Is there any art programs that can create palettes that transport into the OHRRPGCE? I'm using a mixture of DeluxePaint IIe, MS Paint, IPhotoPlus4, Windows Draw Application. The problem mostly is turning the picture into a 4-bit picture. All of the colors are mangled horribly. Is there any program like this, or am I just going to have to draw in the editor? _________________ Calehay |

I think I downloaded the free trial, but it was an HTML file. Am I going to need to download something off the website again? _________________ Calehay |

Okay. Are there any other programs I could get a download from? I don't mean to be cheap, but I'm as broke as my disc drive. (Actually, it's not broken, but it's one of those old disc caddy ones. By the way, does anyone know where I can get a disc caddy?) _________________ Calehay |

I got a sprite into 4-bit just fine using the GIMP. I think what you do is open your image, right-click, go under Image, then Mode, select Indexed, and set colors to 16. _________________

http://hamsterrepublic.com/ohrrpgce/usefulprogs.php has links to The Gimp and Pixia which are both free, and both quite good. |

You can draw sprites using Pixia? How do you get it to be pixel precise? (merely disabling antialiasing doesn't work. |

Actually, I most definitely wouldn't use Pixia for spritework. The kind of things that that program can do are for larger scale pictures. I think your sprites would look ungodly screwed up if you tried a 20 x 20 picture with Pixia. _________________

I know this is a pain, but would anyone mind splitting the GIMP for me? I'm hopefully getting internet at home soon (And by soon, I mean possibly never, until I can get a job.) _________________ Calehay |

You mean splitting as in splitting on floppies?
Have you considered investing in one of these? http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000AZ67Y/ref=pd_sbs_e_1/104-5916114-6327143?v=glance&s=electronics
You can probably find even cheaper ones in stores like best buy or Curcuit City |
