Do you know what it's like when in a video game, you can't go on with the game because you're missing something important? Even if you can keep doing side-quests, you can't make real progress until you can figure it out.

I'm grounding myself from games and web-surfing until I get a frickin' job. My life won't go anywhere until I get one. All of these little hobbies of mine are gonna have to wait.

Here's what I'm thinking; I'll have free time each morning for stuff like this board, but around 3:00 or something, I'm doing nothing but job-searching. If anyone wants to tell me something on IRC or something, you're gonna have to do it before then.

I must say, this is very noble of you. But be warned. A job will take more time out of your day than job searching will. That is, if it's a good job. Airgo: Less free time for hobbies. I believe you get where I am going with this. And that is why I think that your quest for a job is very noble. Good man.

When I had a job, I never had any will or energy to do anything else productive with my day. Now that I don't, I'm getting a lot more of what matters to me done. Just something to keep in mind...

I was more productive when I had a job, because I spent all day at work thinking about the OHR, so I was actually excited to work on my games when I got back.

Well, I'd usually think about them all day, too, but I still didn't do anything when I got home. I was just...beat.
I've also had a bad habit of staying in pre-production limbo forever, too, so that might've contributed to it a bit.

It's not so much productivity as I need money/sustenance/independence.

Been there before where I just didn't want to work or do anything because knowing that I had to get a job or get other things taken care of was making me too depressed to do it.

Cleaning up what you feel is bad in your life can be a huge improvement to your own morale.

If only my one friend could manage to actually make a statement like yours.

Good job!

Shoot, I have a job and still make time for this. Unfortunately, it's not as much time as I once had, but it's still something. And even so, back in the day when I was more OHR productive, only people outside of the OHR community really appreciated my games anyway, so I can honestly say that I have no regrets about the fact that my OHR productivity is diminishing. At least I'm taking everything a step up and moving into film.

...but anyway...
