If I hear one more person say Veld's pic is the highest in quality, I will shoot myself through the head, for truely Art is dead. If you liked Veld's art best, fine, you were right to vote for it. But that's your personal taste; stop trying to justify your vote. If we all voted based solely on technical skill AdrianX's Kyle should have won, and everyone here knows that--at least, everyone with even the slightest background in art. However, that would make for a boring contest and community voting would be pointless. In short, it's good to vote on preference, it's bad to assume your preference is the be all and end all. I know it seems a little late, but it's something to keep in mind for the next contest.

I knew I wouldn't get many votes because most of these little folk don't remember or never knew me and because I chose not to draw in an anime/manga style. And you know what? I'm ok with that. I will not compromise my vision to appease the masses.

(It feels good to rant again!)

I'll just point out that Nepenthe was my second pick too. It was beautiful, but TipWhip outdid it.

Also, not doing a japanese style is actually the reason I like it more than say.. all the others.

Hehe. It's right though. TipWhip ownz... Although, I thought the faces on Veld's art were pretty damn dead on myself. Really confused

Next time you aught to limit it to 1 entry per artist Uncommon..

It would surely be better.

Why? Because you only drew one?

I liked the contest as it was. Each individual picture has it's own qualities, and the artist might
A.)like to see which gets picked or B.) want to pick the one they want to be their submission out of the series they submitted. Although I think 'A' would be more likely.

I was somewhat hoping that someone would give a critique of all the fanart entries, as have been done before for various OHR contests...

i thought about that, as i used to cretique every picture that came up in this forum. i quit when there were nine times as many pics outside of my field of interest than inside.

this string of backlashes is one of the reasons why i didn't submit anything. i don't think we've had a single art contest yet that didn't wind up creating an argument. i don't feel an art argument is worth the energy expenture to join in.

Kei, Show some respect by writing in legible English. If you can't do that, don't post.

I'll say only this.

Congrats to the winner, and to all the participants. You all did your best, I'm sure, and that's what matters. I hope you all feel a sense of accomplishment, because I really liked all the works a lot, which made it a real pain to vote. Raspberry!

Yeah! Let's do this again sometime. Artistic skills, away!

Not because I only had one, but because having several put people at a disadvantage. They basically just compete with themselves.
