Most OHR games aren't complicated enough or long enough to need any walkthrough. For those that are, the author could just include one with the game file should he or she choose to. I don't think we need a new forum for something that could easily be handled in PMs or the OHR general discussion forum. _________________ Locked

I don't think you want a walkthrough forums, you could easily ask for help around the game design forums (it is game design) or PM the game creator (if he/she is still around, most likely)
a walkthrough section might be a bit more practical. _________________ If we were a pack of dogs, IM would be a grand Hound, CN would be a very ficious little pitball, and Giz...well, it doesn't matter breed he is, he'd still be a bitch

Keep in mind FFH and TSSE come with their own strategy guide-walkthroughs, and several recent games also include a hints file, amoung them Pitch Black. I suggested a Walkthroughs forum several months ago, but the argument against that was that it would be nearly impossible to write up a consistent template to be used for all the walkthroughs, much like all our reviews have to fit in a certain template. I see the point behind this, that since no two games are alike, no two reviews would be either. |

That would be interesting to have a Walkthrough Section on the Forums, up with the Gamelist/Review List/Usergroups/etc buttons. But then again, what Iblis and Flamer are saying, it is kinda unnecessary considering that there are simpler ways to do it. _________________

Writing a walkthrough for your own game takes too much time. It would take me roughly 6 months to a year to write a decent walkthrough for Jade.
Quick questions can be solved via a post or PM, in-depth walkthroughs could be hosted on a site.
I think a forum could work. Simply create a topic per game. _________________

Three nights, actually. The dozens of emails and pms about where to go in FFH suddenly ceased when I released the walkthrough. 3 nights vs 3 months of questions, and you'd know what I'd pick. |

..well,so the forum will be for those who don't use PMs that much..besides,its not just about walkthroughs, its about specific questions that any OHRer could answer if in case the maker is busy or something..ive seen this kind of forums in other game maker sites and it looks pretty handy and convenient to me. |
