I'm starting to familiarize myself with this software. Now, this is step recorded, so I didn't use a keyboard this time (which I'll definitely do from now on), so some things (COUGHflute partCOUGH) will end abruptly. It's unedited with the exception of the fades in the beginning and the end.
It's 42 seconds long, and took me a half hour to work on. It's modeled after "cs-05.mid" from the Children of the Sky OST.

Wow, fully orchestrated music. It actually sounds like a professional product.
Where/what is this software? _________________

The developers are at http://www.steinberg.net. It's an extremely expensive piece of software, mostly because it is Cubase's descendant, with mastering and post-production capabilities.
Also, I believe Hans Zimmer is the head director of Nuendo's development, at least that's what I heard.
Anyway, once I get my computer (which should be tomorrow if he's finally DONE WITH IT), I'm going to remake the whole Children of the Sky OST on it, just for good measure. _________________

Yes. Now that's music I can get down to. I think I can see a definite style trend in your music now, Setu.
How many parts are there? 3 or 4? It didn't sound too complex yet. _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...

Believe it or not, here's the structure (concerning parts):
Also, keep in mind that this was step recorded on a graph...
1- Treble clef piano
2- Bass clef piano
3- Full Strings (harmony to the piano section)
4- Slow Strings (harmony to flute section)
5- Flute
6- Viola (playing along with the slow strings)
7- Oboe (takes the melody where the flute drops it off)
8- Horn Section (harmony to the Oboe section)
I've said it once, and I say it all the time: "I have found that there is more beauty in the simple things than the complex." _________________

I hate the strings in the first one (but then again, I hate all synthesized strings. They never get close to the real sound of a string instrument.) The flute's not sounding all too real, either, but that's pretty close. I like the (piece, song, tune, diddy. I 'm not sure what you like to call your music.) The other one is quite nice as well. _________________ Calehay |

Well, keep in mind, Calehay, that this one was step recorded instead of realtime recorded with a keyboard, and it wasn't until last night that I discovered how to create velocity dynamics in the key editor, so I'm still learning the ins and outs of this software. _________________

OMGosh! I only downloaded your first song Setu but I just had to say that it's awesome!! You really put a lot of care into your work, that's obvious! Once you get to know the software better I'm sure you'll be creating all sorts of amazing stuff! Really excellent dude!! _________________ The Daleks are coming!! Woooo! |

That's not going to help. The string sound doesn't have the bite of the true string. The Vibrato is of only one type and the general sound quality isn't there. Also, a real string section is made of Violins, violas, cellos, and basses, each with a different timbre in each. Thus, I believe it's imposible to create a "string ensemble" sound track or the like.
But that's just me. Obviously, synth strings are becoming quite popular. I have nothing against the sound that they make, but it's just not strings.
Moogle1: This program seems quite good. I've seen some that cost more. _________________ Calehay |
