Those of you who have visited Renzokuken recently have noticed that it switched its focus to a portfolio site for my video work. Most notably, little movies that I made with my friends. Some of these are dumb, some of these are entertaining (Sew got a kick out of them at least). But today I finished FOOTBALLED!, probably the best movie I've made yet. If you wish to download it in all 64 mb of its glory, its in the finished projects section of Renzokuken ( http://renzo.castleparadox.com ). Feel free to give your compliments, critizism or whatever. Keep in mind that if you plan on critiquing anything earlier than the hawks daily news open, I probably noticed it already, since I believe I have improved a lot since then.

Also, keep in mind that I don't expect these to impress the pants off of you, but I'd just like to get it out into the open that I am capable of finishing projects, just not OHR projects.

What?!?! WHAT?

Surely that is a mis-type!?! 64MB??? THAT'S HUGE!

Sorry I jumped in here completely randomly, forgive me, but I just had to post my amazement at the size of that file! Wow...

Actually, dude, when you're dealing with movies, you're lookin' at a buttload of memory space. The first three craptacular movies to Neo Krysta reborn (don't ask, it's dead) took up 30MB, and were less than a minute long a piece.

Full size DV is 720x480. If I were to export Footballed as an uncompressed video file, it would be 2.2 gb. I always do this, then transfer it to my PC and run it through after effects and add titles. Once I'm done with this, I resize it to 360x240 (half size), set the sound to mono with IMA 4:1 compression and use the Sorenson 3 audio codec at ~50%. This resulted in the 64 mb file you see on the page. Out of curiosity, I changed the size to 3/4 of the half size (whatever that is) and it was about 45 mb, unfortunatly, the details lost because of the size compression was too great to justify saving people a few minutes in download time. Sorry, I'm just really adamant about nothing smaller than 360x240.

Also, I was surprised to see that 35 people have downloaded Footballed! already. Thanks to you, because that's really brightened my day. We're still in the brainstorming process of our next project, but I'll do my best to make it as good as I can make it.

Dude, I'm impressed by your cinematography approach. Just seeing how you filmed these movies and the way you structured the whole thing (with the music videos, but especially with Footballed; I still have to download the rest), you seem like you have a real passion for this stuff.

Shoot, I wish I could get Realm Entertainment up and running, dude. I'd definitely shoot for you as a director.

...Well, at least I have your phone number, just in case I can get lucky enough to start it up within the next 3 to 5 years. :S

I really want to see these but it'd kill this computer and this computer doesn't belong to me. Is there a way I can get a VHS of them all (And maybe Put On Shoes the live action movie)? I'll pay for the tape and the shipping. The thing is I have a few movie making friends but one is embarassingly pretentious (He has no sense of fun at all in his movies), one of them is incredibly lazy and one of them is hilarious but hasn't made anything new in two years.

Come onto AIM sometime tonight and I'll talk to you about this. It might not be possible to send on a VHS, but I might be able to fit them all on a dvd.
