The final phase trees are very not good. Why is there an outline of light green with dark green in the center? It looks really bizarre.

the second trees are definitely the best, but they could still use some work. They don't even look like they have leaves. But the latest version looks horrible. The shading makes no sense. The light source appears to be coming from all sides except the front. And they look really flat.

you guys criticize about the persons style of art. My game is a fantasy game, so what if the trees look so blobish, maybe i wanted a blobish tree.
I accept your guys opinion, but next time before you criticize just react in a way that judges your own style with the comparison.

whoa, hold a second. Cool down. So it's a fantasy game... what's that got to do with having blobbish trees? I surely doubt you meant to have blobbish trees either. I don't think it's a matter of style, but about craftmanship in general.

Unless the trees are part of what you had in mind. Lose them.
Try and make them more bendy and natural looking. Use a few dithering techniques and such.

What's funny to me is that you ask for our opinions, then you get mad because we don't utterly praise everything you've done. If you ask for our opinions, accept them. We're only giving them to help you get better. Ask Eggie- he got much better as he was given criticism of his art.

If anything, you should be happy that your maptiles were so good that pretty much the only thing we could find to criticize were the obviously flawed trees, which, though you try to pass off as "your style," don't really fit in with the style of your other maptiles. If you're going to ask for other people's opinions, respect them when you get them. No one's trying to be mean, so don't respond so defensively.

The 2nd phase is much livelier, yet I would, if I were you, put a little more detail into the trees, even if you just slightly airbrush a darker shade of green into them, just to give them texture and not so much a solid color. Otherwise, it's sweetness.

Definitely an improvement. Now just study some trees similar to these. I think the trees in Wandering Hamster are close. You might look into studying those. Studying is a great tool for learning improvement.

I agree about the trees, but what the heck is the pile of brown supposed to be, the bottom-left corner is way to undefined, for all we know that brown layer could be a river of shit....

PS work on your walkabouts they look like MSpaint scribbles or Hables No Ingles Graphics....thats not good.
