Also: The thing I don't like about HP (or any series as well written) is the fanatics. My little brother read all 5 damn books 5 times each. I lost interest in count there, so maybe more. There is no reason to read any book more times than you need to. Read it until you get it is my philosophy, and most people can get it in their first read through. My mother has read them all several times as well... And I thought she was a reasonable person. *shakes head* |
Off the top of my head I can think of three reasons:
1) One can learn tricks for one's writing (Not s' much with Rowling, but Wodehouse and others...)
2) The author often hides "Easter eggs" that provide clues to the person who already knows the story about what may happen next, in other books, or give clues about the world.
3) It's enjoyable--which, in my opinion, is reason enough. |
I know what you are saying, and thank you for your input. I, for one, can get that all in one, or two going thrus. Try slowing doooooowwwwwnnn... _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...
