A Beloved Ode to My Dear, Departed Hopkin
by JSH357 & Loaf
Dedicated to Fenrir's ego (2002-2003)

This poem contains elements of RAYP HUR, Hopkin Green Frog RPG, and The Giz No Ingles

Oh where, oh where had my dear Hopkin gone?
I missed my dear frog, for he'd left me last dawn
A trek I began (in search of my friend)
But where had he gone to?
My mind sees no end

Dear Hopkin was green; the color of life
He'd often complained of having no wife
For female frogs are so taxing to find
He'd given it up and settled for wine

It's true, it is true
Dear Hopkin's a drunk
He drones in a stupor, some nights in a funk
But I miss him, you see, for we are good friends
I hope that our friendship will never meet ends

I left in the morning in search of the frog
The morning awaited with buckets of fog
I knew not where to start, so I followed my heart
I travelled in search of the Super Wal-Mart

But lo! From the bushes, dark figures appeared
Some had long rapiers, and some had short spears
I fought the rude ninjas with all of my might
They did not put up very much of a fight

I swung the door open, and hollered with might:
"Reveal to me Hopkin, and you'll live tonight!"
Three women passed out, moaning in fear
And that's when I noticed this Wal-Mart sold beer

I brandished my lens and examined it closely
Webbed footprints and slime are what did approach me
I followed the path, right out of the store
And then I was shocked by a blood-curdling roar!

A demon stood near me, with foam on his mouth!
I had no escape, but I ran to the south
No punches would harm it, but I didn't give up
In good enough time, it had run out of luck

"Dear Hopkin, where areth thou?"
I called to the air
My call was unanswered
The sky remained bare

Then suddenly, as if I'd been smacked in the head
There was dear Hopkin, only meters ahead!
I ran to him crying, with arms wide and spread
That's when I noticed that something was dead!

Not Hopkin; oh no, but a beautiful woman!
She lay on the ground, covered in pudding
I asked my dear Hopkin the cause of this crime
He croaked a response:
"I smacked her up fine!"

I scolded my Hopkin and showed him great anger
He sat there and listened, but felt no real danger
Why had he done this? What reason was there?
I asked him the answer, he croaked it quite clear:

"The Giz made me do it as part of his training!
He told me to rape like her system was waning!
Don't blame me if what I have done is so wrong
I wouldn't know by the words of my schlong"

Revolted I was by Hopkin's disgrace
I grabbed a sledgehammer and pounded his face
That damn dirty frog had learned his life lesson
But I was still shocked, and nearing depression

I buried my friend and gave him a prayer
I vowed not to follow his immoral error
Today I live peaceful, but I still think back fondly
Of my old pal Hopkin, Wal-Mart and the fondling
Those days are gone now, but I can't look back
The Giz has me stationed at Fort Test-her-crack

Plepalu-Ple-plee-perpware-pwe... GET READY for the ALL PWNAGE!

http://www.geocities.com/taru_taurus/Documents/SchoolStorage/Afanfic.doc

But really. Unfold into this journey with caution. Here is ye' olde' background info:
Partisan legacy. Irvine, Partisan's big brother and arch nemesis, has finally decided to do away with his helpless brother and his weak friends by framing them with the government. I think this happens somewhere near the end of Minnek's game, but maybe not. I went off of that concept, though.

Enjoy.

Okay, okay, here's results folks.

All the entries are good, and I'm sorry the results are late, but I've thought about it, read and reread the entries, and I've come up with a placement.

There's a tie for first, between JJKaybomb and JSH. JSH's poetry was good, his approach original, and the humor up to his very high par. JJkaybomb's story was well written, and it worked pretty well. I was disappointed with the ending, but her style of writing I think puts her in a tie for first place.

No_Shot's entry "The Doorbell" I'm putting in third place, because some of his word placement was kind of awkward, and he got a little overdescriptive at times.

Leroy's entry is 4th, but it's really on the same caliber as No_Shot's. Just, something about the style irked me, and I couldn't quite get into the story, or care for the characters.

This was all really close competition, and I had a hard time choosing the winner. If anyone really wants the prize, say so, and I'll get the .zip ready for you.

You just can't accept any critisizm, and hey, you didn't get last.

I agree, my ending was lame. My mom hated it too, but probably for a different reason...
