It's a woman with a big knife. Apparently she's really pissed at someone. The sketchy coloring is a result of me pretending that laziness is a style. Luckily I kinda like how it looks anyway. Comments?

I actually like that style. It's modernistic cartoonery. Her torso's really awkward, though.

the bagginess of the shirt makes the torso look weird.
also, next time you hold a knife(?) notice how it sits in your hand.. because the way she holds it looks too uncomfortable.

Sounds a lot like anime to me.

Nice picture. As it is mostly stylistic, I really don't have any problems with it, though the coloring could, naturally, be better.

She looks a lot like me when I cook steak.

That makes no sense.

People spontaniously draw anime pictures, pretending it is because of "style," rather than admiting to being to lazy and unskilled to draw something decent (not always true, but it usually is).

Drawing good anime is hard. It may be somewhat unoriginal, but it's not lazy.

The original purpose of anime was to be cheap and easy to draw. It has developed to a point where people think it's a high quality form of art, but the point of anime was to visually help the reader understand things like story.
Besides, I did say its not always the case, but that still was the original purpose.

Sorry for bringing the thread off topic.

Everything seems to be in correct preportion which is a very good thing. The actual artistic shapes of her body look good as well. I mean it's not like one arm is extremely long and the other is short. And the coloring is ingenius. I don't how to describe that, but I like it. It really brings more attention towards the picture itself. And the shading in that particular style was quite good. The only negative thing I have to say is that the eyes look too far apart. And what MCW said about the knife. Seems very uncomfortable. Usually whenever I draw hands I either have a hand model or use my own if I can. So try doing that, it really really helps.

I may be mistaken, but I'm fairly sure anime was made to be cheap to animate. The simple mouth movements and shading, for example, are meant to save time and money since Japanese studios originally didn't have nearly as much money as American ones.

I could have put blood dripping off the knife. I am ashamed that I didn't think of this.

Actually, the problem is that he's saying things that make no sense. And nobody is flaming him anyway.

Indeed. Aspects of the eyes, head shape, body shape, and probably a few other things were taken from Invader Zim.
