I had a really good idea for a game, and I don't think it's been done before... A battle game with everyone who wants to submitting a character to fight against!

It could be yourself, your avatar, Dr Zoidburg, anyone you want! It'll have to be an enemy, obviously, as the main character will be fighting you! If you do decide to take part, could you give a bit of bio for your character also?

Been done, I think, but sounds okay. Just be sure the game has good battles, like Thanksgiving Quest.

I nominate myself and Bob the hobo.

I, Joseph Manser (well, that will be my name in the game, though not in real life), have the power of hacking OHR games and making them suit my needs (boost my stats, decrease other people's stats, etc.) after I play them (or when the game's insanely stupid and hard. I sometimes go a little n00bish (irrational, stupid, having too much fun), I'm afraid, so that could be my weakness (I might make mistakes like change stats the wrong way or do something entirely useless).

Bob the hobo is sort of like the Dude (from The Big Lebowski). Everything jus kind of works out somehow, even if what he does is crazy and idiotic. He still wouldn't know how to spell his name.

These, of course, are mere suggestions, so you could really do whatever you want with these, as long as you make the battles fun.

Man, Cabbageking, everyone and their mother has tried to do this kind of game and everyone and their mothers have failed.

If you really think you can do it though, don't ask us to submit our own graphics because that makes for a hell of ugly game, all conflicting styles and what have you.

Authortim you don't have to if you don't want to. I just thought it would be a fun idea that everyone could be involved with! I think lots of conflicting styles doesn't necessarily make for a bad game...

Joe Man your characters sound great! I'm already thinking up attacks and things in my head! Do you think you could draw a sprite, or if you don't want to, doodle a picture and I'll make the sprite myself.

ADDED: Oh and Authortim, if everyone and their mother has failed then it's about time we had one that works!!

Have at it. It's all optimized to save you the time of importing it.

It'll also have the effect of making the rest of your game look horribly out of place, and make the bad sprites and graphics look just that much worse. Maybe then you'll understand why mixing styles isn't exactly a good thing, but yeah, go ahead, we'll see what you can do.

You've impressed me, cabbage. I expected you to be a completely insane n00b who would never do anything of any worth, but it appears I have been quite mistaken. Though I guess I shouldn't judge until I've seen a completed game out of you... Whoops, that makes me a hypocrite.

On topic, I'll det some pictures together sometime. I may get a picture of Joe, but I'm not sure about Bob. I was planning on remaking Bo Hobo for the terrible game contest, so if I put in battles I could give you something in the way of sprites. Just use "Bo Hobo" for reference.

Also, question; how exactly do you plan to keep the game from being very disconcerting to the eye? I don't want to play something that has Magnus graphics clashing with Fenrir-Lunaris graphics. Perhaps it would be best if you just handmade your graphics, and maybe were selective about who could join, to at least make it a little higher quality than "total random nonsense". Just a thought.

(None of this post after the "Have at thee!" was meant to be offensive to any parties involved in this thread, though I might point out that it was meant to be terribly offensive to Sew. For no reason at all.)
