The sprites have pretty much been covered, so... The first sketch with the hero is cool. I mostly like the face, which is very well done anime (manga, or whatever). The rest of the body seems rushed to me. I like the design of the coat, though. Very cool. Happy

The second one, which I assume is an idea for your title screen (or prototype at least) is awesome, but I have a little peeve to discuss. The dragon is awesome, and I assume it is supposed to be a hairy dragon. If it was meant to be hairy, the hair seems a little rushed as well. Hair everywhere. Sort of sketchy... *spits up a hair ball*

Great work in all, though.
I salute you.

It was actually a rough attempt at shading. Raspberry!

Sorry my mistake...I should read more.

What I wanted to say was how does this game relate with the original Final fantacy 7 game?

Ok. They look good (sprites) and the picture looks good to for the title.

But I also want to know... what the hell has this got to do with FF7? Or are you just leaching off the name... Im not too sure if those characters that you mentioned were FF7 characters (If they are... Smack your forehead and groan - Like Fenrir said)

Hope it all turns out good.

By the way... David does know all about Final Fantasy Advent children - And so do I... I think I've had this avatar since well into last year... We have movie previews and many different commentry by certain people who are involoved in makin the movie. And anyway, all he said was - "It looks cool"... not... "It is cool"... got me? I think people are just trying their best to be blatantly stupid and mean to others (NEW TREND???)

It has very little to do with FF7, really. I'm just using the name to leech off the original game's commercial success.

(Actually, the only things that are left from the first FF7 now are the towns and a rehashed materia system.)

So let me get this straight. Your game has nothing to do with FF7 but the locations and materia? Well that would be quite the big reference to the game's setting. A similar storyline doesn't neccessarily mean it doesn't have anything to do with FF7 itself. To be honest, if you can create that entire world map in OHR it will be a feat few could reach. There was a lot remember. Heh.

Okay, I'll talk seriously for once, but only once:

FF7-2 takes place several thousand years after the original FF7, so the geography is only loosely based off the original world. Also, there's a crater on the Midgar continent where the Meteor hit. That's all I'm going to say.

Oh and the fourth animation in for Riphe his right hand goes out of the screen, I suggest trying to show its bending instead of just cutting it off. (Unless you plan to do spells that include the hand holding a particular item/magic) But other than that the poses and character weight seem very well thought out, and yes i agree withevryone else, it needs more color variation. Maybe in keeping with the FF7 theme you could add an identifiable peice of clothing for each character -- not so the become rip -offs but to show at least some history of the original present in the game (e.g) just giving Riphe that single shoulder armor plate.

Your original artwork is very good, except the sword in Riphe full body portrait seems more of an afterthought, the pose and pencil gradient don't blend in well with the rest of the picture. In the dragon (gradient) picture I dislike the sketchy lines, they look too much like they're donw in MS paint. I like the original better because the body movements are clearly defined.

(Another Note: wasn't the gradient for the FF7 style blue to green?? I'm not sure though because I haven't played much FF games)

It's been different between games. FF1 had blue -> light blue. FF2 had violet. And in this case, yes, you're right; FF7's gradient was blue -> green -> black.

The fourth frame would be Attack B, wouldn't it? If so, then a missing hand may just be in the weapon graphic. Hell, I was going to do that in a game once.

Several thousand years after the original game? Huh? Okay...but will we hear of the meteor that nearly destroyed the world, in this game? Or of Cloud? Like in a legend or sumthing?
