I am preparing to give a speech at a contest this weekend. I have to call a few people to see if they can work for me, because I didn't get the chance to ask off of my main job that day. Yea. And it's probably my fault.

Moogle, determine a girl's character from how she looks, don't judge on how pretty she is, but how she looks like she acts and thinks. If it's in line with your dream girl, just ask if you can talk to her. If she says no, it was never meant to be. Small talk, pick up lines, that's all just plain stupid. The way to meet girls is to ask if you can talk to them, then talk to them and see if you guessed their character right. Sure it's awkward, it's not ladies man-esque, it's not mackalicious or whatever the kids are saying, it's not how playas approach women, it's not even a way to get "dates". What it is is an honest way to start getting to know a woman as a friend and then seeing it develop. Women who want you just for a friend to cry to while they date drug dealers and alcoholics aren't even worth your friendship of course. Sure they'll want to marry you once they get too old and saggy to attract the young criminal types, but you don't have that kind of time and you don't want a girl with boobs that hang lower than your penis (To the ground if you're anything like me).

I bought this beautiful girl in my life a dozen of roses and suprised her at her work with them. She later called me up while I was at work and thanked me for them. So remember boys and girls, if I can do it, you can too. And by the way, chicks love flowers. So if you want a chick to dig ya back the way you dig her, flowers are the best bet.

Gil, I'm still puzzled as to why that's addressed to me. It's good advice and all (and it's true, even though I need to remind myself of it from time to time), but I'm still trying to figure out what I said that prompted it.

Actually, me being the suave guy I am, I have several girls that would go out with me. (Most of them are high-schoolers. The freaky thing about me is that girls, especially high-schoolers, automatically assume I'm their age.) I just don't have time for them. My first free night in three weeks is this Friday. I'll probably find someone to ask out between now and then.

My real moral dilemma, and maybe this is the wrong place to even start talking about this, is whether it's a good idea to date high-schoolers and/or co-workers. (All my co-workers are high-school females [you read that right; yes, I'm just about the only guy; yes, it's pretty nice], which comprises 90% of my contact with the opposite sex.) My internal debate is still in session and until then I'm not asking them out -- but I'm leaning that way since I just have so little opportunity beyond that.

Mmf. I'm done with my little rant.
