if, by your vague wording, you mean someone else's avatar, i would say it varies from person to person. anyone who made their own avatar (me, for example) would probably say "NO!" or at least "ask me first." but if you mean using cp to host an avatar and remote linking to it from another site/forum... i would say that while not illegal (because the avatar is being used here), it is extremely frowned upon.

Maybe, but people typically don't care. It's a whole what, 10000 pixels? That's not big. Now, if you have a big, epic story being told through four hours worth of frames, first of all you really need to get a new av, but that may be something worth complaining about if that's the case. But really, I've never, until now, met a person who truly cared. Sure, one a Metroid Metal member took Halogrunt001's av, and HG1 just though it was funny and flipped it upside-down. I may be able to recall other instances, but that's irrelevant. I myself don't care, and probobly never will.

For me, using Harpo Marx is sort of ironic. He almost never talked in the pictures. I, on the other hand, talk too much perhaps...
