While we're at it, how does A Wizard's Life, Winterfold, 914, The Adventures of Mark and The 4th Year have as many downloads as they have?

More people need to download Trailblazers >_<

Or, how about not worrying about the download count of your game, and rather, the actual content of said game.

And you can 300+ hits to a game just by linking as a image on your livejournal, by the way.

Why bother putting any message, any thought, any skill at all into a game, if it will find no audience, and do nothing at all? I make games because it's the kind of thing I like to play, and to see that download count go up means to me there's one more person who at least is willing to try something that I like, and that's a heartening thought. Why? I couldn't tell you, but it's the way I feel, and I don't know that I can change it.

If Zander would be named " Ander" it would have five times as many downloads. It's all about having a starting letter that comes early in the alphabet.
Think about it: Adventures of Billy..., A wizards life, even A magical adventure for mr Mushroom has a lot of downloads.

3m, people, he isn't complaining that his games aren't ranked higher. He's complaining that the Top 25 list is proving to be an incredibly unreliable measure of a game's quality, what with all the crap on it.

And, to PHC's point, this "A- Bias" could be easily fixed by making the gamelist randomly choose a letter to show you. It'd make the numbers mean a lot more, anyway. But don't think that's stopping me from changing all my game's names to things taht work favorably within the "A-Bias".
