Hi guys,
I used to be a huge fan of this engine so it was only natural that I'd make a game eventually. The game is called "Resident Evil Break Down" and it's a prequel to the GBC version called "Gaiden". Here are some shots:

Anyway, it's a pretty big project so I'm looking for decent graphic and music guys to help out. If you're good, let me know. |

Hey, now, Joel. These don't look half bad at all.
See? What Joel did here was good. He didn't just request help on his game, but he posted what he has so far.
I would help you, J man, but I already have my hands full. Good luck with your head hunt. _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...

Those graphics actually look pretty cool. I can't think of much to comment on except that using the Capcom logo is probably a bad idea. And the faces look a bit weird since they're all in different styles.
Is this game going to use the OHR battle engine or are you going to plotscript fighting on the map? |

Could you elaborate a bit on the type of graphics you'd need? I might be able to help if it's something like Walkabouts, but I'd like to know exactly how much work's involved, what kind of things I'd need to do and all. |

hmm... what a strange resemblance... im baffled...
sure this game is supposed to be a sequel, but can we atleast see some 'original' graphics made by yourself here. you won't go very far by ripping other peoples work, and it's highly looked down upon around here. _________________

Obviously, it's ripped. It's a "prequel". I'm not going to make all new graphics when people are expecting to play in the same locations. (An ocean liner) The only differences are:
-the sprites and environments are scaled down
- areas damaged in Gaiden will be repaired
-new characters and enemies
-new items
-a new storyline
-new cut-scenes
Ripping a game isn't a bad thing as long as you do a good job and don't take credit for it. Capcom is fully credited in the intro. |

This may or may not be true, though ripping is certainly frowned upon. I don't think it's going to stop people from playing the game, but it will probably hurt the reviews for the game and lower your chances of getting help on it. _________________ My name is...

It just goes to show that he needs an artist(s). With these "borrowed" graphics, I believe he showed us what his intensions were for the game he is wanting to make. I commend him for that. _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...

Guys, I'm just trying to make a good game. Gaiden took 100+ people to make. I don't have that kind of manpower! Using the graphics and making a backstory suits me just fine. Everyone except for Leon (guy on right) was made by me. In the world of survial horror, staying true to the series, in this case borrowing graphics, is key. Porting them over alone is very time consuming.
Anyone who still wants to help, let me know. |
