How does it work. If I add more than 4 heroes, and I allow swapping anytime, can they alternate between 4 in battle and 4 in standby?

If you add any heroes past the first and allow anytime-swapping, they can rearrange who is and isn't in the party anytime oustide of battle.

I hope that's what you were asking.

I think he meant al la FF10. Nope you can not swap in and out while in battle.
