I'm not your certified computer geek, so please bear with me here....
I'm currently experiencing a problem regarding custom, game, and hspeak...... Whenever I exit from these programs, on rare occasions, the screen goes black and, on big bright letters, the words "OUT OF RANGE" will appear.
Is this a problem on OHRRPGCE? Is it just my computer? Or am I just a dumb ass who knows nothing?
Any help will be appreciated. Tnx! _________________ The man who smiles when things go wrong has thought of someone to blame it on.

How big are the "big bright letters"? Custom and Game don't do anything like that, and I suspect that it'd be a waste of time to get hspeak to do that, so it's probably something else on your computer. _________________ I stand corrected. Well, a red box appears and then in the middle of the box are the words OUT OF RANGE, in big, white letters.....
Shoot, now I can't make games anymore without restarting my computer once in a while.. _________________ The man who smiles when things go wrong has thought of someone to blame it on.

Can you snap the screenshot, and post it? I'd like to look at it. As far as I know, "Out of Range" is a standard QBasic error: most likely it's a result of the OS mucking something up internally in it's personal environment or something. The red box is something unique, though... But I've also gotten such things as "Out of Bounds", "Invalid Line", so on and so forth, but they were always a black box with the letters in the upper-left, with the inclusive words "Press any key to return to system..." prompt.
Could be a crash mid-way through results in the screen being red and the "cursor" being positioned coincidently at the right spacing to place it in the center or the screen. Without seeing the screen, though, this is just all wild speculation... Either an elusive error in the code, or more likely an error within your environment.

Make, or take? Well, I suppose if it's fullscreen...
Anyway, I can honestly say that it's not the fault of the OHR or any of it's related programs. Try turning off your anti-virus, see if that helps. Aside from that, I'm stumped. _________________ I stand corrected. No rivers ran blood today. At least, none that were caused by us.

So, it looks like that? Exactly? That doesn't look like any possible error that'd be programmed in... well... anywhere. Maybe a driver or something? That's just wierd. If that's what it "looks" like, then that's one thing, but if you press ALT+ENTER and make it a smaller screen, and then actually copy+paste the exact screen, it'd be far lovelier.
I'd love to see what happened if it was a different font that was loaded or something, to see if it's an OS thing or a OHR thing...

I've seen a similar error on my computer. I was trying to set the resolution ridiculously high just to see what it would look like. When I tried a few of the highest ones the "OUT OF RANGE" screen came up and I went back to my normal resolution. So it's probably a computer error or a windows error, not an OHR error. _________________ Locked

If that's right, Iblis, then it's probably a monitor problem. Monitor's tend to have different message backgrounds then normal computer error messages would be. |

I tried changing resolutions, too, but that error message still appears.
This sometimes happens when I ALT+TAB my way out of OHR. Then, it will get stuck there forever.
Maybe it is a monitor problem......... _________________ The man who smiles when things go wrong has thought of someone to blame it on.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if it did turn out to be a monitor error message. My monitor pops up errors in a box just like that sometimes. I've never had problems with the ohr, but it does pop a bit, and sometimes shows some gobbledygook characters for a second or so while it works. |

I've had something similiar. I forget what caused it or how I fixed it, though.
But... how can you get a screenshot of it if its an error display on the monitor? Wouldn't it be the OS giving this message?
This could never have been an OHR problem because HSpeak is coded in Euphoria. _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |

You can't get a screenshot of a monitor error message, simply because it doesn't go through the video card.
Anyway, it sounds like the monitor doesn't always like the OHR's screen resolution.
*shrugs* The only thing I can suggest is to get a new monitor. _________________ I stand corrected. No rivers ran blood today. At least, none that were caused by us.

Damn........
Get a new one? Are you sure?
