I use the OHR for the following reasons:
1) It's the only maker my computer can download/run.
2) It's pretty easy.
3) The community is interesting.
4) I can't code (Or, for that matter, plotscript) worth crap.
5) I just like it. _________________ "I do believe your Squid exists. I really do, you know?" |

I don't even use it any more, for lack of computer usage.

It is, as said before, versatile. I can't code, plotscript, etc. worth crap, as another person stated before. However, my strong suit is stories. The OHR (Being the only one (Sans ZZT and Megazeux) that I have tried) is the most... flexible on straight-forwardness. I guess we have James Paige to thank for this, otherwise I'd be trying (and failing... no, trying and dying:)) to make a game. _________________ A broken clock is still right twice a day. |

the only reason I use OHR anymore is to finish Jade.
The attraction to it for me was the promise of plotscripting, or "gamescripting" as it was first called. I think. Also, the tile engine. _________________

I use it to escape from my abusive alcoholic stepfather, my neurotic control-freak mom, and my friends who routinely beat the crap out of me. Not that I mind...in fact, I use it all as a source of inspiration for my games. They might turn out to be defeatist-themed and not very fun to play, but hey, variety is the salt of life! _________________ Play Horrible Fantasy NOW! |

He's got you there, Sparrowhawk.
Another reason that I use this is because, well, I excel at strategic games, and RPGs are considered "Strategic turn-based games" in many communities (even though the OHR is more "Real Time" than "Turn Based"-Another plus for me) _________________ A broken clock is still right twice a day. |
