I figured this might be useful to whoever's going to be the webmaster... _________________ "Everyone has 200,000 bad drawings in them, the sooner you get them out the better."

Here's the post for you mere non-members:

I know spam is got a bit of a stigma on forum boards, so I'll keep it short and pretty. I know not all of us make the big bucks to afford higher quality web hosting.
at www.dreamhosting.com , they are having a pretty decent sale on their crazy insane domain plan (120 gb/bandwidth mo, 2400 gb space, 600 e mail accounts hosted, unlimited e mail names, unlimited db's, 25 shell accounts, 3 domains, I think it's unlimited sub domains, but I'm going by memory here, and there is a lot more)
There plan, for 1 year, would be 119.95, not bad, but not cheap. They are having a promo right now that would make the first year 9.24.
If you use the promo code, all I ask is that you enter my WebID as your referral.
WebID: mindsap
The promo code is 777, which you enter at the very end of the ordering process. I just did this last night (4/3) and they had my account activated in about 10 minutes.
If you guys want to chain the referrals so everyone gets a kick back, that's fine. Just post your WebID in your message on the forum for the next person to use.

I think an extra 120GB of bandwidth and 2400GB disk space is something worth checking out. _________________ "Everyone has 200,000 bad drawings in them, the sooner you get them out the better."

To the best of my knowledge, the server is hosted on a box in IM's house. It'll be changing soon, but the point is that the server is privately owned. _________________ I stand corrected. No rivers ran blood today. At least, none that were caused by us.

I use dreamhost for http://motherhamster.org/
It is an absolutely fantastic service. I have never worked with a better web host. They give you so many cool features (not that you can tell from looking at the site). They also let you install your own software, so it is almost as good as having your own linux box. I already run the developer's mailing list from there, and I will probably be moving the wiki over there soon too. |

Which works out to about $10 a month, which is really good. (The promotion code 777 is required for the $9.24 special, and I don't know if it still works or not.) |
