MP~ broken?

It seems that something is wrong with the MP~ stat. I haven't had a chance to test myself yet, but a friend told me that when the MP~ stat is at 50 everything works fine, but when he combines two pieces of equiment to make it 75, suddenly all magic for this character costs 0. Does anyone know about this? I looked on the bug list, but didn't see this on there, although I seem to remember this being on there before. Is there a chance my friend has an old version of game.exe, perhaps?

msw188: By "fine", do you mean that the spells cost 50% less, or that the spells cost normal?

I mean that when MP~ is 50, the spells cost half as much as originally, as they should.

Your friend was probably playing a game where the spells cost a low number of magic points, so by reducing the cost by 75%, the cost may round down to zero.

But I don't think the OHR battle system is supposed to round down.

The spells were not low enough for 75% down to make the cost round down to zero. There were certainly spells that cost more than 4 SP. This person does not know how to check what version he has, so I will try it on mine sometime soon and see if the problem still exists for me.
