I don't make a habit of making a big welcoming message, but because of the circonstances, I will
Hello Gizmog1, hello Moogle1 and all the others I didnt' come accross yet... It is I : James Smith... You all don't recall probably because my last appearance was a couple of days after the Magnus Sequel contest in which I made a game and slowly disappeared. I did show up a couple months ago on the IRC channel but to no avail...
Now, I, James, found out this community was *still* alive and that Jaimes would publish his source code... So I thought I'd come back to my game maker's root and see if I can help into makin the engine even better than it is and provide the newbies with an overgrowing engine I still have to see how it evolved for now, but eventually, I'll get a look around the code...
Also, for all those "Rinku, The_Ender, Vegeta007 and the others" a big hello... I did try to make projects with many of you in the past
Ok, I'm introduced... now you can get to your reading of INTERESTING and not nostalgic posts lol |

Welcome back, JARS. I think I have heard of you before...
[joke]
Kahn, it's Flamer's job to insult the site. His name is 'Flamer.'
[/joke]
Seriously though, don't flame the site. It's not going to make you cool. |

lol Giz, that would not be the good guy I'm sorry but ... lol Hopefully I'm not here to flame the site ...
Flamer does raise a good point though : why would I come back here? Well well, let's be short : OHRRPGCE is the first game making community I participated into, so its kinda hard to forget your roots... I'm particularly proud of saying the first engine (not language, as I did code before that) was OHRRPGCE and not that shitty illegal RPGMaker serie... of course, OHRRPGCE was a lot more work and harder to workaround the gfx, but its the best training platform as far as engines are concerned thanks to the plotscripting system...
So I thought I'd give the creator a hand if he needs one |

I'm currently solving an issue with the OHR and my OS, after which I'll consider re-learning plotscripting |

um, is that negative???
for those who don't remember, here are old screenies from a dusty game I used to be making :
now, all, please laugh, I do too in fact... BUT, I do am getting better yet I must say that's mainly because I *rarely* use ohrrpgce because it pains me to see how crappy my custom artwork on this engine sucks not that it doesn't suck elsewhere... |

That's exactly the style of graphics I like.

well i am not a drawer, and um, those date from about 5 or 6 YEARS lol... so don't expect I still have a safety copy of this project anywhere close, but um, sure, i could give it a hand...
I sure wish I could do "magnus-golem" graphics... who made that game again? (haha quiz for the old dudes there) |
