Uh, actually, I recall that "day 1 in this godforsaken community" for you was you spamming the boards under the alias "mkddr." That really didn't give you a good first impression, did it?

You know, if Fyre's hard drive crashes, I might just find it very, very funny.
Not to be mean or anything but that would just be funny.
Though I would certainly feel sorry for Fyre.

I would suspect that he probably has the foresight to back up 5+ years of work.

That was someone else from IRC using my nick from IRC. I have always gone by FyreWulff in the message forums. Always.

I have backups, Charbile has backups, the internet has copies backed up to servers. For all the copies to go corrupt and deleted, I think I would really have to piss off someone.

Bullshit, Mitch. Your story the last time this was brought up was that it was your nephew, or some crap like that. We all know you did it, and it's no use lying.

I want a unique experience that I'm not expecting.

Then why charge me with building up false expectations as if that is unwanted--why would you want any expectations, then? (look, I can do this too! Moving on up, dynomite!)

1.
Your exaggerated display is not fitting for a pretty princess. "think of the best ohr game you have played to have an accurate expectation for Sword of Jade"--and my context was that the work aims to be the best ohr game. With that context, all other ohr games come into play as points of reference, since that is the standard of measurement for 'best of'.

Most people are not bold enough to enter the contest, let alone make it explicitly clear to people who would like nothing less than to have reason to call them stupid, if just for trying. But I am not most people, just one among a few who have entered. I am not afraid of the outcome, but excited.

2.
An OHR platformer and OHR rpg can be two different 'types' of games, but the fact remains they are still games, and they are both made with the OHR, and as such they retain points of comparison. As you have listed in your details, you can compare the graphics from one game to another, the story, the challenges, the integration, the experience, etc etc.

Instead, you chose to take what I meant and set it up as absurd, when that isn't what I was saying. The same goes for Squall's remark--if you aren't mocking our effort, then why think I meant you, or whoever is not guilty of such action, with what I said? This is why I began by making clear that bad blood has no place here. I am not out to get you. Neither is FW. But it is clear, from the first replies in this thread to here, that that is what some people desire to believe and propagate. Anyone familiar with the 'strawman' concept?

3.
This is basically a formality, one last experience I thought I may as well have to end my time with the ohrrpgce, to see what it was like for others I have esteemed. So far, it has been mainly talking to trolls. To a lesser person, this would cause them to become jaded and to give up some of their enthusiasm for game making. To me, it just causes the occasional snicker.

I think it's great that FW and Char have worked on a single game for the OHR engine for so long. Delayed so many times just to perfect a game in an out-dated engine. Have any of you stuck to the OHR and made grand games as such?

You all sit in your chairs mocking those who try and work. Soon, CP will become not a place of production but a place for critics and trolls.

What do you mean, "soon"? Isn't it already? The last three uploaded games are parodies of the unreleased SoJ (one of them you made, hypocrite); the last ten finished games have come from the same three or four people. Only one new review has been uploaded in the last six months and few of the already few demos released in that time have been worth playing.

I make games, but I don't delude myself into thinking CP's really helping that.

Things may look bad, but I can give you my promise that things will get better. Of course it will take some community cooperation, but if CP being a place that caters to game creators instead of being a place to distract is important to you, then I have faith we can make it work.

And I've got DOSbox installed, but I can't mount my drives.

I'm no Mac user, but a short trip to Google brought me here. Is that what you wanted?

PHC, this means no one is making games. I just said Fyre and Char are dedicated to working on the OHR. I didnt say their games were good (**BZZZT***). I just wanted to point out none of YOU are working on a game.
