I'm in, but i'd like to work with a partner/team.
Graphics are very important in a contest like this. I can draw ok, but I don't think "halloween" goes very good with me and drawing.
Anyone want to work w/ me? Someone with good drawing skills?
(I'm not scary, really.) _________________ http://hellyeahmyownurl.spaces.live.com/default.aspx?_c02_owner=1

I guess I will. I've never been one to ignore others asking for help. _________________ "There will always be people who will tell you they hate what you made, or like what you made, and will tell you that what you did was wrong or right."

I may or may not be able to help you, Slime. It's entirely dependent on how many graphics you need...and when. I have a fairly busy schedule (with class and all), but that doesn't mean I can't squeeze in another thing, heh. _________________ Current Projects:

So can you enter a demo, or does it have to be a completed game? _________________ The Following Statement is True.

Hmmm... Build a Halloween game and add on to it once a year for the Halloween contest. If that is allowed, it would be almost as good as making sequels... ONLY EASIER.
Sorry. Maybe the above thought was a dumb idea. Anyway, I've been brain-storming game concepts for a Halloween game on the side of the Epic, and I've come up with a couple pretty lame ones so far (Trick or treat arena, pumpkin carving, and oh my god will those require some deep scripting). I'll continue to think about these. I got some solid concepts, but I will see what happens with my other contests. We have less than a month, but that's still 20 odd days. I'm REALLY just trying to break away from these damn procrastinator habits of mine. _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...

I don't think it matters. I've been in the contest ever since Giz hosted it and I've seen entries of all kinds. I personally prefer completed entries since I can't stand having an incompleted project. Sadly, with the Epic this year I won't be entering. As HQ3 woulda been fun to do this year, but perhaps next year. _________________ ---------------Projects----

Fuck the Epic, man. Be true to your school. And it doesn't have to be finished, it doesn't have to be long, it doesn't have to be good, you just have to link to it in this thread and say "HERE IS AN ENTRY" or some other english language equivalent. I think you could release sequels, or add ons or whatever, just so long as you realize that what impressed us last year might not hold up as well this year, and you have to add SOMETHING.
EDIT: Wasn't too clear in the last sentence. What I mean is, that ANYTHING you submit is valid, so long as there's some kind of new content. It could be something insanely small, it just has to be apparent by playing the game. So no adding a new walkabout in the file, and saying it's something new, but even adding a new backdrop, so long as you make it seen in the game. |

Hmm, in that case I might release a "Gold version" of Scary Game 2. Better battle engine, bugfixes, whatnot. _________________

I wonder if I can throw something up in the last 14 days. With the new OHR update I may be able to make some kind of exploration game with QTEs. The graphics will be lame and I'd have to randomise it to prevent linearity, but we'll just see if I get it done in time. |

Still planning, but it won't take much time to make, once I'm done with that. I might do this tomorrow and whip it out by Halloween. I still have to figure out the format/layout of the game. I know the theme I want, but now I need a creative way to execute it.
Ooo yeah, baby. "Push doors open" RPG is going to blow some minds. _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...
