The upgrade versions of Windows XP/2000 can upgrade from any Windows since 95. Unfortunately, this means every time you reformat, you have to install the previous OS and then install the upgrade. So you're just better off buying the full version.

and piracy = Pissed off!

just buy the OS for godsakes.

I'm fine with buying an OS, but there's no way in hell that I'm going to buy 3 $200 OS's (one for each computer)

I always buy one and rip the others.
