The yellow on the sword she is holding doesn't really look shaded at all. Other than that, pretty good.

http://www.eccentrix.com/members/djfenix/art/gothic.jpg - This is Cel-Style (copy and paste)
Sorry that I don't have a better example ;... anyhoo... cel-style is basically the style that animated anime uses. It doesn't have a gradient look to it, it has distinct colours in the shading and highlights. If you look at the picture, the division between the shading, highlights, and actual colours is a clear line. Hope that explains it ^^ |

Alternatively, think Wind Waker.
As for that picture, I like it much better than the other one, but I still look forward to cel-shaded versions. Great job! _________________

I made a celshaded version, I think its celshading. Celshading takes a lot out of me. @_@ I didn't even do good. The only celshading technuique I know is to manually draw the lines that seperate the shades, then fill them in with the appropiate color. When I do the other kind of shading, its really fun and I like the way the picture looks in the end. But when I do this (cel)shading, its really takes out a lot from me. @_@ And plus, I want to do the new shading more. Ive been doing celshading without knowing what its called back when I worked on my game. All the cutscenes are celshaded(celshaded in paint :/ ) Ive probaly done hundreds of celshaded pictures because of the game. @_@

*Looks closer*
I dont know, I still think its not good. :/ Either that, or Ive been doing this so long, I cant see it anymore or it looks bleh to me now. When I look at other peoples celshaded CGs and stuff, it looks really good and shiny, but when I look at mines, it looks, I dont know, like not good.
Im gonna start the comic, soon, and I have two choices to use for the shading style, the cel shade style, or the other shade style. @_@ |

Remember that the webcomic is for you. Do what you like. Both version of the picture have their strong points. |
