Oh no: have one, but never tell anyone.
You need a deadline or you'll keep putting things off, but on the other hand you will never hit it so it's best to keep it to yourself. |

Maybe you can show us a bit of what you can do so we'll know what we can think of you as...
Fungo the pixel artist? Fungo the composer? Fungo the writer?

I'm a mediocre pixel artist, I'm a horrible composer, but I'm really good at writing plots (but not at programming them.) |

More like have a release date, but make sure it's one you can keep, instead of just saying one to try and please everyone. There's nothing wrong with estimating how long it's going to take to release something, just leave yourself some wiggle room, don't overestimate yourself, and be sure not to hype yourself too much.
My main pointer would be, for anything, is just download the editor, and play around. If you want to learn plotscripting, download HSSED, and play around with that too. That's really the easiest way to get into the habits of game making. You don't have to release everything you make, and you don't even have to make everything at once. I'm just now finishing up a game I started making around Halloween time, but got bored of, and now a few months looking back at it, I really like it and want to see it through. |

Making a first game, even if crappy, is a really great way to get familliar with the engine.

YES! No matter what ANYONE tells you, you MUST come to IRC (Aka CHAT) at least once. It's really pretty fun, if there's anyone around. (General good word of advice: Don't fall in with any companies) |

Considering how lazy society is becoming, I wouldn't be surprised if it did. _________________ http://www.castleparadox.com/gamelist-display.php?game=750 Bloodlust Demo 1.00

Once you downlaod an OHR game, how do you make it so you can play it with the game player? |

Quite simple, really. Once you unzip the game somewhere, just open Game.exe, and navigate to the game. It will show the title of the game (not the filename). Just highlight it, and press enter, and the game will load. _________________ I stand corrected. No rivers ran blood today. At least, none that were caused by us.
