I hate games where someone just randomly decides they'll help you out. If you ask someone for directions to Pizza Hut, and he wants to get in your car and go with you, this man is a weirdo! He is not a hero! He will probably behead you and eat your wallet. |
Giz, you and I will make this game. _________________

You be the Pizza Seeker, I'll be the Weirdo. Then, we can switch. |

when you're making a post, there are buttons above the typing area that does different stuff. 'Code' and 'List' are a few of them. _________________

So what purpose do Code and List serve? _________________ "Never sacrifice the thrills of living for the security of existence" |

That's not entirely true:
- If you just use list by itself, it won't do much, sure.
- But, you can put list items in by using "[ *]" (without the space)
- That way, you can have bullets!
Just be aware that phpBB is exceedingly sensitive to whitespace around lists, codes and quotes. _________________ I stand corrected. No rivers ran blood today. At least, none that were caused by us.

Ok, but this seems like a really odd thing for someone to include in a list of guidelines for this site. No one will care whether we use the list option or just write:
-Dinosaurs are great.
-They lived millions of years ago.
-They died. | Not quite. There's a bit of a difference with list.
---This is not formatted as a list, and so when I get to the end of the line, it will start the next line flush with the --- and not the beginning of the sentence.
- Lists, however, line all text up, which is the purpose of using them. This way everything under this single bullet will be aligned, and easier to read, which I would assume was the reason for recommending the usage of them.

Don't argue about the point of lining up text. Use your preference. _________________ "Everyone has 200,000 bad drawings in them, the sooner you get them out the better."

It wasn't useless, just uncluttered. Also, dd you see #28.
<looks again>
Good point. I really need to look for after-pages.
29. Learn to properly use advanced list tags (that's the one that says "List=") on the forums.
30. Learn to look for help on your plotscripts when they don't work.
31. Wrap said code in code tags, like so: Code: |
script, demo, begin
wait (1)
demo
end
|
32. Use a good hook. HQuest and its sequels... well, they had that hook. Wandering Hamster has the hook of a

a
towards the end. Sword of Jade had that time-change thingy and a level up system. Think of something that hasn't been done in many of the (now called) Cheesy Newb Games. _________________ A broken clock is still right twice a day. |

I'm pretty sure he's talking about the other HQ. You know, Halloween Quest. _________________
