Occasionally, when trying to quit out of Game.exe in the game I'm working on, the game crashes and goes to windows instead of quitting normally (sending me back to the title screen).

After this happens, the game will crash when entering certain maps (doesn't seem to be a consistent pattern to what maps will crash it), as if the previous crash somehow corrupted the .rpg file. Replacing the rpg file with an older backup will fix this problem.

Sorry, I don't have a test file for you guys. I've been writing over my corrupted rpg file with older backups to fix the problem, and I haven't kept the broken file around. I'll keep it if it happens again.

Anyone else have this problem? I didn't see it in bugzilla. Again, it's Tirgoviste, on Windows XP.

The developers rule!

Hmm... That's odd. In no way does Game even consider writing to the game file, especially while exiting. Yes, seeing the corrupted RPG would help immensely, assuming that this is in fact the trouble.

When it starts crashing, is it consistent? Or, is it erratic? And, before it starts crashing regularly, does it ever do it before? Or, does it 100% start when game crashes on exit?

From my experience, 100% of the problems start after the crash on exit. Furthermore, it's always upon trying to go to the same map, and it happens 100% of the time (although the broken map appears to be randomly chosen). However, this has only happened to me twice, and I reverted to a backup rather quickly, so I'm not working with a lot of data.

Sorry there's no corrupted file to show you. I thought about saving it just about the same time I wrote over it. Next time it happens, I'll definitely save one.

Custom crashes on exit for me quite alot. But I've neevr noticed any corruption. But my game is rather buggy right now, I can't blame anything on corruption.

Actually, it's Game that's crashing on me. I do have a corrupt copy now, if you want to see it. Can I email it to you? The game crashes whenever you try to leave town (which is just a simple door linked to another map operation; no plotscripting involved.)

This problem seems to have been caused by Game. When I play for the first time, everything's fine. Then I save, exit, and load the game again, and it's starts crashing when I try to go to other maps.
