So after years of not doing anything with OHR, I've decided to stop kidding myself and realize that these games I think up are never going to be completed. However, one game idea that I am REALLY fond of is one I can't bear to just let disappear. Here's what I propose.

If anyone wants this story idea, it's theirs. The only catch is that they HAVE to make a game with it. (Or at least a significant demo) Most likely, I'll stay on board to fully flesh out the story. I have the idea thought up, and about half the game planned, but as for a full story, I haven't finalized it yet, so I'd finish it for you. I would LIKE to write the dialogue for it, but that all depends on my schedule. All I really ask in return is to get the story credit. (Heck, I might pitch in a few tunes, again, schedule permitting)

So here's the basic idea to it. I have more of this typed out, but I won't bore you with details unless this sparks interest.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

SKETCHBOOK (Yes, some of you who know me might remember the many failed attempts to get this off the ground)

A teenage girl in love with drawing is finally confronted by her father about it. He views it as a waste of time, and she views it as her one true passion. After the confrontation escalates, the girl, Tearis, runs off to her room. There, she gives up and is so angry that she tears down all of her drawings plastering her walls! She falls asleep at her desk in tears.

Soon, she wakes up to find herself as nothing but a penciled outline... she hears a small voice, and looks down to see one of her sketches has come to life on the page in front of her. Before she realizes it, she's down on the page with him and the two set off to find the nearest city. Once there, Tearis and her sketch, Charlie, find out that the entire world of her drawings has been torn to shreds! Tearis doesn't dare admit that it was her that did it, and as a form of penance, offers to help them collect the pieces now scattered all over the room.

Tearis fights her way with her new party members through old drawings of monsters, and old piles of eraser shavings (a form of monster) to collect the remnants of her art. As the game progresses, so does the art; from pencil, to pen, to water color, through just about every form of art a teenage girl would try!

The game has some interesting mechanics to it that I think make for fun gameplay and a fun idea. It has a sort of Alice in Wonderland feel to it as tearis travels around her house as a 4 inch drawing of herself trying to piece everything back together. There are all sorts of plot twists as well, but overall the importance of the game is the gameplay, and not so much the plot. (Though, that, of course, is important, as well)

----------------------------------------------------------------

Anyway, any takers? Reply here with thoughts, concerns, suggestions, whatever if you're interested.

...blast.

I swear I've had this game idea for about 5 or 6 years now... Grimtooth and Kath brainstormed with me a little bit to develop more ideas back when we were going to make it (If that shows you how old this is. Big grin)

Any similarity to Stixworld is entirely coincidental. besides, I know the idea seems a bit cliche... I just want the darn thing made!

But thanks for pointing it out for me. Happy
