UltraMega Basics-Teenage super group fights evil and goes to highschool

The Leader, David. His hero name is Bolt owing to his ability to channel electricity through his blade. He's also fast on his feet and can run around 70 mph. Cool and collected and maybe a little obsessed with stoping his nemises "Dead."


Jason Troy. He dosen't quite have a super name. His power is generating flame from his fist and from his body if he's mad enough. He wears goggles so he can see easier during his high powered fire fights. He dosen't need a costume because he's usally engulfed in flames


Kali. Team's resident emo. Shes telepathic and can fly. When she needs to she can become a being of pure energy for short time. But thats only in extreme situations. And yes she does look alot like Raven.


Thera Memnon. A free spirit. She can fly faster than sound and super strong. She's into David but his head's too far up his ass to know.


Rayden Rush(or Hank I haven't got it toghether yet). A messy-haired skirt chaser & the group dumbass who can't help but love. Rayden turns into a giant werewolf-like creature.

I got more but this is all for now. I know you guys have questions about what the hell is going on and I'll be glad to answer if you ask.

She looks much differnt without her mask on. And her cape has some history behind it. And I actually got her costume design form a victoria secret swimsuit mag : D. Her leotard is more like shorts than a 1 piece thingie. And her belt is diffrent (an adaptiation from the swimsuit). And she has a plunging neckline instead of an allover suit.

The msot popular girl in school for...certain reasons. Veronica has mind control powers over men (suprise suprise) all she has to do is hold eye contact for 5 seconds. Being the misguided slut she is she turns to a life of crime and becomes as Jason calls her "That goddman She Devil" or just "She Devil" for short.
Yes I know her hand is small.

The whole marker black and white thing is working out for me. Beats inking with a pen for 9000000000.5 hours.

You know, looking at it, the rest of these heroes aren't very original either. We've got a guy who kind run 70mph, kind of like a lamer version of the flash, only with lightning and a sword. We've got a guy who can cover himself in fire, and that's really original, because I'm sure none of us EVER read the Fantastic Four, and a werewolf guy who's kind of like Beast Boy.

I don't mean to get too hard on you, because this is the Art Forum, and it's meant for constructive criticism on works in progress, but I think you should do some thinking into how you can make your characters different from the existing stereotypes.

The leader is ALWAYS cool and collected. Maybe you could make him a bit more rash, and quick to action, even if it means he makes mistakes, or stumbles into traps. A lot of people think that flawed characters are interesting, but it's rare for that flawed character to be in a position of leadership.

I'd like to see some more of the characters maybe, from different angles, or as their concept gets refined, to maybe decide better how much I like it. But I'd certainly be interested in seeing how this develops. At least for now though, your designs and characters seem to be mostly the kind of heroes we've seen 10 or so times already, and I'm bored by them.

Well Giz I am acrually sorry you feel that way. Balanced super powers are hard to come by. Most of them have some kind of tweaking that makes them different.
Like I always wanted to make a Wolf hero ever since I saw Vanhelsing. Raydens backstory is more of an escaped beast trying to supress his inner self than anything...


David Bolt is fast...but not nearly flash fast (flash can run like mach 3). Just fast enough to do some super human stunts. He's actaully more of a samurai than anything. In his story at first he is reckless and headstrong. because he's an orphan living on the streets. He had to be to live. teacher comes along and guides him into focusing his power. "If it can't be done it one stroke it can't be done at all" was his motto. So Ray learned how to be pinpoint with his fury. And, as high up martial artist are, calmer. And he has to be. The rest of the team are emotionally vunerable.

Jason Troy can only use his fist to channel fire. The all over thing he can't do unless its a super stressful situation. And he can't fly like torch. He dosent have super strenth. He's more or less the group tanker. Powerful offensivly but slow. He's not bullet proof and dosen't have hyper healing powers, but he's what he lieks to call 'Sturdy'. He'll get fucked up and bleed. But he won't die. Within a week he's ok. Jason unlike most of the group remembers that he had a fmaily. But out of all the group he was the closest to the comets crash site and his family died. Ironically he had to learn to stop being compassionate and use his anger&pain to survive as he wandered the dessert and city.

Kali had mental powers before the comet came down. For all her early childhood she was kept in a basement by a wack job who told her she was a freak and he was doing her a favor keeping her away form other children. Eventually the tension hits climax when she makes him have a little accident on the stairs. But it goes wrong when he actually dies from it. Guilt liek that will eff up a kid at a young age. Somehow she holds it toghether and keeps her head in the books (she wears glasses when shes not wearing her hood) and gets by with the support of her freinds.

Thera...Haven't really finished compiling her backstory. But it will involve much jumping.

This is Aki. At "the time when stuff happened" Aki didn't get to fly or anything interesting. Aki was crippled and has to live the rest of his life in a wheelchair. All the kids always laugh at Aki. All the kids know he's just a nerd. All the kids know he's a cripple that can't do anythign back to them. What all the kids didm't knwo is that poor little Aki Tojiro is a genius.
Aki's father being a high rankign military type never really spent much time with him. Instead always sent him mini rockets and other military tecnology. Aki always head an interest in the military. His mother always told Aki his father was a powerful man. As if this made up for him never being home. Aki knew it was the weapons that made the military powerful. If he had a gun all the other kids would never say another word about him. Weapons gained respect.
One day Aki's dad actually was home. They we're on his computer lookign at designs for new advanced weaponry, it was their only "quality time" in years. Suddenly Mr. Tojiro got an emergancy call and had to leave. Aki was left all alone once again...Only his mother wasn't home....and he was never in his fathers room. Aki kept looking at things on his fathers computer & then some things he wasn't supposed to. Eventually Aki had bypassed & hacked through every level of military clearance. A plan started to form in Aki's head. No one would laugh at him anymore.
Aki now goes to the same school as the superteam. No one knows of course Aki is the Industructable cyborg supercrimminal known as "Tecnoman" or as the team calls him "Tec." One of the few beings whoc an go toe to toe with the entire team at once. Oh yes Aki will get his revenge.

No one really knows why but since "the time when weird stuff happened" a shady quasi goverment lab has been experiemtning on Deanimal*/Human/whateverelse they can find gene splicing. What is their aim? Most likely for a super weapon. But why have a super weapon? So little is known about the lab but the expirements are what matters. Why do they matter.

Because they escaped.

Fittingly her power lets her intrude and destroy other peoples mind by animating their deepest fears. Apathetic to basically everything she'd follow Dead into the depths of hell and never give word of complaint.

DeadEnd (used to be named Blood, havent decided). Dead End or Dead, for short was never a kid. Irya and the rest of experiments where once human. He never got that privilage. His genes where perfected to the last chromosome before he was born. He was genetically perfect with one flaw his white hair and red eyes. But being albino in a dark lab was never a problem. He never saw anyone but the nameless whitecoat scientist so he never knew he looked odd. What experiment 696 did find as problem was his life. Dead ran a maze like rat on the hour everyday.Everytime the maze was different and if he lagged the floor would burn him. He always had to take test but never given the answers or even a chance to study. Yet when he got questions wrong he was severly shocked. And as the world slept he spent his time in a suspended device in complete darkness, with a single drip of water always landing on his forehead so he could never really rest.
Eventually the scientist got what they wanted. 696 started to evolve to meet every challenge. His mind amazingly started to calculate how to get around the maze. His muscles started to have amazing density and he could get through in record time. He could read minds and started to score perfectly on his quizes. He gained nightvision and could see though the cold dark of his cell. He might of been humanities ultimate triumph. The scientist had won. Or had they....
With all his amazing deeds science forgot to factor in one thing. His soul. 696 hated the bastards more than anyone could imagine. All he could think about was makign them go away. He founf the word for it one day during a quiz. The word was 'dead.' 696 wanted them dead. H ehad never said a word and let them think everything was ok. Until one night hanging up in his cell, he snapped. He broke the steel contraption to pieces and beat the wall of his cell to dust. They tried to stop him. They shot him shocked him, everything. 696 had become immune to pain and damn near invunerable. As he went and tore the lab scientist limb from limb he felt the emotions running through their minds. All one could think about was his life at an end. 696 then spoke his first word out of free will at the age of 10 "DeadEnd" and then he crushed the man's skull. He discovered others liek him existed within that dark hell and decided he wanted to make the labrotory dead too. He freed all the living expereiments (which where few) and pounded an opening in the wall. Now Dead was free. And everyday he lives with his smoldering hate for humans.
Now Dead is 18 and the superteams biggest nemesis.

I've never played Final Fnatasy and have no idea who sephyroth is. Execpt he has a dman near cult like fanbase and a few of the CP users seem to have his name.

Is it me or is that guys sword uselessly long!?

Well Dead's hair is more worn and dosen't lookas kept as seph. And his wings are much much much bigger. In the picture Dead's are actually curled. Dead also has blood red eyes. I'll draw closeup of Dead and post it soon.
