I've noticed that more advertising of a game, even if it isn't good tends to get more people to download it and give it a try. Might sound obvious, but I used to stick to just keeping advertising to a minimum which seemed to have resulted in less hits.

Anyway, to keep the community aware, I'm working on the horror survival game which I call Bloodlust. We discussed its level down system already on the game design discussion board, and I'm still trying to figure what I can do to make it work well.

There will also be sound effects added now that it can be implimented, which will make it more of a horror game experience.

Dynamic lighting (somewhat) will be in it as well. I'm going to see if I myself can make it so that the screen gets brighter and darker and such as you get near or move away from a light source. Longebane suggested it first and said he would do it, but he seems busy lately. If he doesn't get around to it I'm going to do it myself. Ha ha.

I plan on having a good storyline for this game. I haven't worked with a serious storyline for a game ever, and this will be the first. I don't want to go into detail because I want to keep enough of it unknown so there aren't spoilers.

But, the game basically starts off with your main character, Reed. You can rename him at the beginning if you'd like, and he wakes up to find blood trails all over his house. He then goes on to find out what happened to his family. Not sure whether or not what he sees is real, he contemplates whether he should go back to sleep or get out of the house and find out what's going on.

He finds that nothing is right with the rest of the world either upon stepping out, and it's your choice what to do - should he seek answers by heading into the city? Or should he go back to bed and hope that this is some surreal nightmare?

The plot probably doesn't sound that interesting, but it does seem like how most horror games are - you have no idea what's happening in the beginning, and it unravels as you progress. I plan the same for my game.

Come on, work with me here. If you're a fan of horror games, you'll probably like it. There isn't so much monster killing, so it isn't as much like Resident Evil as it is like Silent Hill. You might also be reminded of Clock Tower the First Fear some and if you watched the anime Paranoia Agent, you might be reminded of some of its elements as well.

Also, my current avatar is one of the characters from my game.

Discuss.

Ha ha, don't worry about it, the main character has normal hair, and that's who you'll be seeing most of the time.

EDIT: So PHC, were you able to play Sword of Jade? Raspberry!

Hmmm, how far along are you in the development phase? I just finished Trilby's Notes several weeks and am quite hungry for another horror adventure game.

Mm... Planning and such has been done mostly, and I'm currently working on the first section of the game, meaning the first dungeon. Once that is done, I'm going to go and touch up everything else before it and then it will be playable as a game demo, but I don't plan on releasing it with only one dungeon. Perhaps you wouldn't mind playtesting? I definitely think I could use feedback from someone who can create well done games such as you Friend. Cool

Sure, but I won't be able to playtest until next week or so. I need to take care of my INS paperwork for the time being.

Thanks you two, it would probably help my game a lot to get playtesting from ones who can create great games such as yourselves. Since it will take some time to finish up the first section of the game, I will send you guys the game through your e-mail (which I will get from your profile) when it is ready, and give you any details you may need. If you would like more of the storyline (meaning spoilers), let me know as well, although it would probably be better not to.

If anyone else would like to playtest, please let me know. Thanks!
