The 2006 Game that Does Not Suck Contest (or Halloween contest ;P)
---------------
The rules are simple. Make a complete game fitting in the
following criteria:

- Each entry must involve around Vampires
- Each entry must include atleast one of the following secondary movie themes:
a. Western
b. Mafia
c. Martial Arts
d. Medievil
e. Romance
f. (Note that Horror and Comedy arn't listed -- I perfer that no entries
are centered on these themes, as it's been done a million times.
Other themes may be approved by emailing me
at webmaster@funkyfeetproductions.com).
- Each entry must be playable on any Windows computer with minimal
bugs.
- Each entry must be submitted by 12:00 noon EST on November 1st.

Additional notes:
- You may work in a group, however, only 1 prize will be rewarded per group, so it would be best if you kept the groups small, and from a similiar geographical location.
- Entries will be judged based on creativity, playability, storyline, and general impression by me and my team of judges (who are not affiliated with castleparadox or any game making community).
- No purchase necessary to enter. Shipping will be paid by me.

Prizes
- Grand Prize winner will recieve a DVD of Moon Child (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moon_Child) and a $10 gift certificate to an online store of their choice.

- Runner Up Prize winner will receive a $5 gift certificate to an online store of their choice.

How to enter

- Before the end of the contest on November 1st 12:00 noon, entries
must be sent to webmaster@funkyfeetproductions.com with the subject "GTDNS Entry".

- Judging will be finished by November 5th, in which the winners will be announced.

Would you accept "Storybook" as a theme? If so, I'm in.

I might join, I have a little thing I've been working on for a while. Just need to dust it off...

*dust* *dust*

Who knows, maybe if I'm not so lazy I'll be able to release a game by November 1st.

[Edit: HOLY HELL, it's already the 19th! I'd better get started! Really confused ]

Does rule f mean that our games aren't allowed to be comedic or that it's okay to have a funny game as long as it fits one of the other categories?

In other news, i want to nominate the sci-fi category. it'll be like castlevania, except in space!

Essentially, I don't want a bunch of stupid joke games, and horror based games would be too easy of a genre to work off of. ;P That answer the question?

As for the story book idea, it depends. If you're thinking of a "Princess Bride" type thing, that's fine (and awesome XD), but if you're thinking of just making a flip-page story with no playability, I can't forsee you winning.

Heheh. Too late, Chenzi. I already have the DVD of Moon Child. >Happy

It is a pretty good movie, guys. It's definitely worth winning.

I wish I had the skills with OHR and the creative experience with actually making a decent product to join this. I would make a game about Vampires and Romance.

...

What?
