Final Fantasy H has now topped 6000 downloads. This is cause to celebrate. In fact, the only way appropriate enough to celebrate, is by playing an OHR game.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you the public release of Vikings Of Midgard, complete from start to finish. I've included many new features not seen in other OHR games, and have even included a beta version of the "smooth" OHR's Game.exe, for those who want to see the difference. But mostly enjoy it!

Happiness indeed!

I'm not sure if I should play this version or wait for the Ubersetzung version. Is there anything really major I'd be missing from the full experience if I play it now?

Wow, if we get Vikings at 6000 downloads, do we get TSSE at 100% when FFH gets 10,000 downloads? Ha.

Sound effects, a few minor bugfixes, some music upgrades perhaps, and MAYBE one extra battle after the credits roll. This of course is assuming Moogle completes the "Dancing Mad"-esque set of songs for it. I'd go ahead and play this now, send in some bug reports, and those would get done faster (besides, this is testing out the new OHR's stability more than anything).

Considering I dusted off the TSSE file last night to celebrate, I wouldn't rule anything out just yet! Wink

You didn't test everything good sir. No animating backdrops to my knowledge. So apparently ya didn't use EVERYTHING or else you would have encountered the same problem I have with it.

All known problems with animating backdrops are fixed already

'' . bug_title('156') . ''
'' . bug_title('235') . ''

If you are still having problems with the latest nightly builds, you ought to report them

*JOY*

bugs I have noticed so far;

* having mythril seems to have no impact on the availability of stuff in the shop in town
* animals are willing to talk to me no matter who I have in my party (or do inactive reserve team members count towards that?)

un-bugs I have noticed so far:

* awesomeness
* I don't know of this is just my imagination, but some of the walkabouts seem subtly nicer since the last release.

Looking forward to finding the free time to play all the way through :)

I really like this RPG. It isn't too hard, but it is fun, and each job type shows their abilities well.

The "restores HP/MP on <condition>" things don't seem to work? Let me try again and call you back.

I actually think its a little too easy. I've had my first death at the elemental boss, though I know how to defeat it now. It seems that not running from any battles just raises your level tremendously.

There's a few spelling mistakes and visual goofs every now and then. I'm compiling a list of them, though I can't promise to get everything. I can't wait to play this with sound effects. I think all of the OHR's new features are melding quite nicely.

i agree, most of the bosses you can beat in 1 try, and your overtile tree top problem could probably be fixed just by making them an npc then making the npc step on and npc over hero. but then the foot offset will get skrewy so its really up to you which way you want it.

Mithril adds two, maybe three items to the first store's inventory. UNLESS it's an actual bug.

The animals are only checking if you have a Ranger in the group.

Also, I could have sworn I had that stupid tree problem fixed. See, this is why you release public Betas, so you can actually catch the bugs.

The bosses are best beat at levels divisible by 5, which is easy enough to get to. If you still think they're too easy, there's a few optional "Superbosses" you should try and beat. Still, gaining levels is the BEST way to play though this game. Also, Lightning shatters Ice, Cold douses Flames, and Heat dispeses Electricity. The coloration of enemies should also give a few key hints (blue and purple are cold, red and orange are hot, etc) as to what element to use on them too.

The game has a fairly steady learning curve, but I pull no punches with the last dungeon - be level 25 (minimum reccommended), and have abilities to reduce physical and magical damage. Try to beat as many extra bosses as you can to round out your items too. But mostly, explore, and have fun!

Gonna be so weird hearing all my music in a game; wish me luck.
