|
|
Hello everyone, i'm Burst, and i'm new to OHRRPGCE.
Well, i have a question:
How do i use layers? Can i have transparencies when using layers?
I can't find any topics on this nor any help docs.
I wanna start making something cool right away!
Thanks in advance! |

This is a brand new feature, only available in the most recent nightly WIP builds. Nobody has written any documentation yet, but here is the short of it:
Press CTRL+L to enable layers.
Press PgUp and PgDn to change which layer you are working with.
Layer 1 is the ground. it is not transparent
Layer 2 is also the ground, but it is transparent.
Layer 3 is over your head. it is transparent.
Report any bugs you find. |

the layers are a bew addition to a non-official release (known as nightly: progresses that are unstable). For this reason, they are not documented yet, but there is a thread that describes the general idea.
Wohhh, Jaimes beated me to it |

On the subject of layers, I was just wondering what this will mean for messing with the maps using plotscripting. How will commands like write map block be affected? _________________ my stuff: http://www.pumphrey.free-online.co.uk/jessica |

Readmapblock and writemapblock each have a new optional layer argument at the end. If you leave it off, it will only operate on layer 0, but you can also specify layer 1 and layer 2. |

Ok, i tried using layers. Layer 2 will always be my first drawn tile, i can't change it. If i try putting another tile, it will just overwrite a tile on layer 0.
How can i set tiles on layer 2 without affecting layer 0?
Thanks again. |

Layer 2 is supposed to overlap lay 0 and 1. That's exactly what it's there for. You have to use the first black (i'm pretty sure) for pixels you wish to keep transparent. _________________

Even though the other layers are activated, in the game I only see layer 0. Is there something simple I'm doing wrong? _________________ SACRE BLEU!

You need to press PageUp and PageDn to edit the other layers, and place tiles on them. |

Nonono.
I have NO problem editing the actual layers. In the editor it all looks golden.
Once I run the game trhough Game.exe, layer1 and layer2 are not visible, only layer 0 and the sprites. _________________ SACRE BLEU!

That is what I would expect to see if you were using an old copy of game.exe that does not support layers yet. |
