What does being a "guru of the ohr" have to do with being welcoming? And I have no idea what you mean by "your thoughts are not half as thought as they used to be."

If you expect a warm welcome for any sort of crap you happen to post, think again. The community is still very welcoming to those who make positive contributions: ask Newbie_Power or Inspiration. What is not welcome here is trolling of any sort, and that includes your own.

Don't ask Newbie_Power. I feel like a hypocrite now that I've posted stuff in the cliches thread and I'm starting to figure out that I have a hard time making my story not-cliche.

Hey, don't beat yourself up over it. Clichés can be pretty hard to avoid sometimes, especially at the beginning. Your ability to recognize the ones you're guilty of adds to your credibility and potential, I think. Besides, there are some contexts where clichés are actually appropriate, like for an homage, or nostalgia. What'll set you apart is if you can find a good or original way of pulling off those clichés.
You're a good kid and I'd like to see what you come out with. You haven't been making the same mistakes most new users have on the boards, so I'd hope this reflects in your games.

Thanks. I'll continue trying my best. I don't want to feel like I'm ripping off games directly.

To Mods (if they happen to even exist/care):

I vote that all of the crap that doesn't have to with the contest be removed from this thread. This is childish, immature, banal, ludricrous trolling that really doesn't need to be here. This is an ART contest. Not a thread discussing that curse words are offensive in some cultures or anything even close to that.

Seriously, take it in a journal if you need to, but if you stay here, MAKE SOME FRICKIN' ART!

Two more weeks? Making it the 18th from the extension post? You might want to update the original post (besides, if all this crap stays here, some people might not feel like sifting through the thread to find out if it's been updated.

I might as well create something for this contest, just for the hell of it. It won't win, but that's not the spirit of this thing.

I told myself if I got at least five entries I'd enter myself, and PHC's makes five, so I plan on doing something, as well.
And yeah, I should mention the extension in the first post. Though it was going to be only one more week. I figure if anyone needed there attention gotten, by now it has been and they'll be able to make something up by Sunday, but if anyone needs more time, by all means let me know.

Thank you, it was time somebody said that.

Also, what the hell man? I leave for three days, and JARS starts trolling in response to Uncommon's post? Listen, Uncommon has ALWAYS had a "down to earth" method of speaking - it's partly why a lot of community members like him and respect him. It shows he thinks his mind, and thankfully he's stable.

If you learned anything from this, it's that (A) try not to take offense to what other people say, and (B) this is just an internet forum. If you're going to be offended by something you see on the internet, you might need to do a little extra growing up. Why not submit an entry to Uncommon's contest, to show you have an interest in it, instead of picking at sematics?

Also, PHC's entry fills me with glee. And Feather is done rather nicely as well (She looks suspiciously like a female representation of Uncy?). Good shows all around.

Like I said, J.A.R.S never saw Die Hard, so he is not used to action heroes like John McLaine that say words like that to get the job done.

This talk of people needing to start sending entries is making me glad that I made the first entry, heh.

Hee hee. Got the wrong contest with that one. Can't draw my own character for a fanart contest.
Though, yes, the glasses are a bit of a self reference, I've always thought that my two characters that borrow most from different aspects of my own personality were Feather and James, you're just the first one who's caught it as far as she goes.

I had considered that, but I also don't like dicking around with other people's posts. That, and moving and editing them all would be a HUGE pain, moreover unless Uncy himself says that's fine, I wouldn't touch it. Not yet anyway.

Whoops! Shows how much I've actually been paying attention! I had been thinking that for a while, and somehow it slipped my mind. I was probably thinking about it at the time, because it's actually good pixel work, and did impress on me some. Good job again.
