Hmm?
What differentiates these clues from background noise? Certainly not relevance!
I'd been looking around myself, but found nothing (I hoped that the BMP clue had something to do with "The Trouble With the World, but that was sixty fingers, not thirty).
What connects these with anything? What connects them with each other? I'm horribly confused... Did everyone just poke around old posts looking for weird stuff?
What? |

Um, there's a brief connection between each clue.
It might help to look at the compiled list o' clues to understand what the heck just happened.

Thank you, Lyhn. Your contributions to the community have been invaluable. We would have been several pages behind in the Never Ending Story without you, and now thanks to you we are aware that this is stupid. _________________

Ooookay...so each clue gives an indication of where the next clue was hidden, as well as mystery-specific data. Okay.
Note to self: things make more sense when you poke around carefully and think a bit. |

Yes, now that's wisdom.
Well, for all you sleuths out there, it's been two weeks since Buford went on the hunt. It seems, with your help, that he's been able to confirm two facts: the culprit does, in fact, live somewhere in the Hamster Republic, and that jealousy played a part in the motive. It's still unclear exactly where the culprit lived, or what he was jealous about, or if jealousy was even his sole reason for doing what he did, but we at least have those two facts as foundations. So, for all those who figured that out, thank you, and you've got a few extra points added to your score for it.
We still have seven weeks to put our ten-minute games (or full-blown adventures) together, so keep developing those theories. Remember, we're looking for theories, whether they line up with the clues or not. The closer they are to the truth will depend on which judging category they'll fall into in August. Don't labor over the clues so much that nothing else gets done. Creative ideas sometimes brings the truth to a better angle.
And just out of curiosity, how many of you are planning on making something (regardless of size) for this contest? I know I haven't actually asked that yet. _________________ Progress Report:

I've got a full-blown storyline in my head, as well as on half a page of partially-crumpled up notebook paper; although, a terrible sense of priorities might prevent me from pursuing it. |
