I don't know if this is covered anywhere, but I've noticed something recently. If I have an animating map tile, and i write map block to change it, the animation goes away. Is there a way to get the animation back onafter a write a map tile? Or could it be a bug? Or am I just not able to do it?

to write animated tiles, you have to use value that is greater then 160.

read the dictionary for readmapblock

Map tiles 160-207 are animated tiles from pattern 1, and tiles 208-255 are from pattern two. Exactly what tiles these correspond to depends on the Tile Range defined in Custom.

There are also a few new commands in U. for dealing with animated tiles: 'plot:animation start tile'
'plot:get tile animation offset'
'plot:set tile animation offset'
'plot:current display tile'
Though these probably won't be any help to you.
