So I go to the OHR web page and I swear there's more versions of it then Windows Vista. Nightly release, Hasta la Q-Basic, Hasta La Q-Basic 2, Ultimate, Home Premium...
So, uh I'm trying to get the OHR back on my computer. Which one is the best one I should shoot for? Or should I just cry myself to sleep and play Dawn of War instead? My whole life is a lie.
Thanks for whatever advice you can give. You may be rewarded by some obscure contest game. Maybe. _________________ But enough talk, have at you! |

I think most of those would work the same for 99% of games. _________________ Tower Defense Game |

I have no idea why you're afraid of a windowed OHR, but it's pretty much the same as it was when you left.
Except it's got a couple of new features.
All of the Wips have the same content. The only differences between them is that a few of them are experimental and a bit more unstable than the other backends.
I usually go with the wip-fb-natives, as those usually work pretty well for me.
If you really can't decide, you could either pick the default wip, or the ancient, latest stable version. |

AAAH you aren't helping. So do I want the ancient, stable version or the more-better not as stable version? Sapphire or Ruby? Diamond or Pearl? Charmander or Squirtle? AAAAAHHH!! _________________ But enough talk, have at you! |

Well, I'd pick the one with the cool Poke'mon Features. (Pearl More better, unstabler.)
But that's just me. Do it. |

The wip nightly build should be more stable than the windows build of the last stable release (it's had an extra year of debugging), but it has bugs in certain new features like sound effects that appear when you're unlucky and your computer hates you. Some fringe opinions will tell you that the nightlies deleted their dog and exploded their toaster, but I have absolutely nothing to do with the sound code. _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |

That reminds me of the famous article that predicted the success of open source, called 'Worse is better'. It's kind of like.. over time, both the number of bugs and ease of squashing a bug increases, so really, it's quite fair to say that the newer versions have 'new improved bugs' |
