..okay,i used photoshop cs2 to draw my walkabout sprite.i used the same colors (maybe 15 to 16 colors) in all my frames.then i tried to save it frame by frame as an 8 bit bitmap (since i cant seem to save it as 4 bit bitmap using photoshop).and then i save the frames in 4bit bitmap using Ultimate Paint.when i imported my first frame (down frame),it turned out perfectly.but then when i imported another frame (the right/left frame) and either overwrite or not overwrite the current palette, the first frame that i imported recently will get its color messed up.is this a bug?i really, really need help with this one;my dating simulation game contest entry is at stake.
UPDATE: ..it turned out that wether i overwrite or not the current palette of my sprite, the colors will get rearranged.is there any way to fix this? |

I don't use Ultimate Paint, so I don't think I can help you with that; however, I think I might be able to suggest a way to work around it.
After saving your first frame with Ultimate Paint as 4-bit, you can simply paste your other frames on top of your first frame in MS-Paint and then save those new frames under their original names in 4-bit.
Good luck with resolving your problem. |

Each frame is getting its own palette. Although all those palettes have the same colors, the colors are not in the same order.
Try this:
In photoshop, put all the walkabout frames on a single image, side-by-side, and then save it. Then in Ultimate Paint, reduce the bit depth to 4-bit. Then finally, cut out each frame and re-save them separately as 4-bit.
(EDIT: Twinhamster's method sounds easier)
This is why we need '' . bug_title('413') . '' |
