I hate this game on a personal, emotional basis. Which is a good thing, in my book. _________________ C:\DOS

It's like the Final Fantasy 8 Draw system all over again, without Card and Item Mod to save you. At least Greed Staves exist and leveling up heals you (one of the couple of options). _________________

Wow, didn't even think of FF8 but not that you mention it. o.o
I dare to say that the battles in Fatal Maze are quite more tactical, though. |

Instead of something that forces the player to waste turns, probably have something that's actually more fun to work with. The easiest, and possibly the most involved solution I just came up with is having the "Pickup" ability lower the stat you just stole from. This would make bats easier to kill if they raise their defense, this would stun Magicians slightly, and this would affect any other potential enemies. Special abilities that you gain could also use the items you Pickup as the cost. _________________

Well I didn't really want to do that. I like it the way it is. It's not really as bad to waste some turns to get some items because the battles are fast. The tactic lies more on getting items from stronger mobs without taking too much damage later. For new mobs you can just create a situation that isn't dangerous for you anymore and then draw more than 20 items in a minute, those will be enough for a while then. |

Still seems pretty counter intuitive. I'll let others see if it works out for them first, though. _________________

Actually I think the battles work out fine, especially since the Attack stat is the only one that goes up. It keeps the game much more simple that way.
A more diverse soundtrack would have been nice, tho. _________________ C:\DOS

I was actually thinking of adding more music, but I couldn't really decide which ones fit into it. I tried to compose myself but it's really hard, harder than making graphics. :-/
If someone makes music for the game, I'd add it.
Did anyone finish it yet? |

I've tried to play this game and enjoy it. But it's absolutely awful. It just puts you out in the beginning of some maze, you don't know why you're there. Unless you play around and guess how to win a fight, you will die immediately. Even when you find out what to do, the game still sucks. Some enemies are VERY annoying (i.e. the sleep wizard).
Overall, this is a terrible game. I'm going to try to finish it to write a review. But I can't make any promises. _________________ ---------------Projects----

I'm using the latest stable build... maybe they work in the nightly. So far, i've only tried healing outside of battles, and they've hurt me.
I dont think it's a terrible game. It's basically a bare-bones battle experiment. With some polish to the battles, and perhaps an actual storyline, it might be pretty good. |

The latest stable build has a bug where if you switch items around, items that were originally in that slot have its effect on you (so if you switched it around, that's probably why it's hurting) until you quit the menus. If this isn't the case, I'm not sure what it could be, but you should try the latest nightly.
Currently I'm on the first floor. _________________ http://www.castleparadox.com/gamelist-display.php?game=750 Bloodlust Demo 1.00
