				| Ok, I'll address it.

Sooo you're saying there shouldn't be a problem with me just defending my stating an opinion?

And saying it's not my fault if someone is offended by a clearly-stated opinion does not attack their opinions, it is merely yet another opinion being stated. So however true your statement may be, it didn't seem to make any sense to say in the context of the current argument; this is why I didn't address it. In general though, I do believe that reactions to my comments can become a little extreme.

				| I'm saying you shouldn't have a problem with people actually *gasp* fighting your opinion with theirs, and even if you do insist on having a problem with it, people are going to tell you anyway. You are not going to stop people from saying things just because you think your opinion is magical and abstract. Deal with it. | Quote: | | Sooo you're saying there shouldn't be a problem with me just defending my stating an opinion? |

If you could please read the recent replies; you will see exactly how it came to that, and yes it did have relevance to the conversation. We were talking about concretes and abstract ideas. How can I NOT point out at that logical juncture that jesus being a concrete isn't necessarily a good argument, because of the limited evidence?

Yes, I read them. Someone pointed out that god is an abstract without a concrete analogue, and someone pointed out Jesus as a concrete analogue. Anyway, there is evidence that there was a Jesus of Nazereth, or that someone was named Jesus in Nazareth about 6 yrs. AD.

I honestly don't see how out of line it is say I think some have overreacted to my comment, and we should move on. Seriously, I don't follow where you get the idea I'm somehow attempting to suppress others' counter opinions. Kind of feels like you're saying this just to keep the "shit stirred". All I've done is have my own counter opinions.

I'd like to know what this evidence is please. Just know I will probably still not be convinced with some other document or something, and even forensic proof of his physical existence (somehow with proof that it is indeed his) does not make that necessary concretes/abstracts connection with god.

				| Do not expect your opinion to be respected. If you say something that offends someone or seems wrong, then trying to defend the value of an opinion just isn't going to work. | Quote: | | Seriously, I don't follow where you get the idea I'm somehow attempting to suppress others' counter opinions. |

				| It looks like it ended though, so people can go back to talking about stories and such. _________________

Yeah, this is why I stopped replying anymore. Here's the thread, though, for anyone who's curious:

 - Bad story or no story?
 - No such thing as good or bad
 - Yes there is
       - Confusion & arguments
 - Words don't mean things
 - Yes they do
       - Okay, SOME words don't mean things
 - Yes they do
       - Religious debate lol
 - What is an opinion?
 - A miserable pile of secrets!
 - But enough talk.
