Does anyone remember the forest theme from Sword of Jade? It's basically the first dungeon after you leave the first town. I thought it was an original composition by Jazz Man, but I stumbled upon the same song at this page:

http://www.geocities.com/madmidis/noframes/Japanese.html

It's song #2 by the way.

Just wondering if it was an original song or not?

You mean Forest Pass (not a dungeon). The song for that map was called "Bard [????]". I looked in the latest (never released "nightly") version of SoJ, and it has a MIDI version of that song which is identical to the one you linked to, except with slightly different instruments. The track titles from the MIDI read:
Quote:
"Bard Dance"
by Enya, from her
self-titled album.

Post count+1 :p

Also, I think you guys worry to much about whether something is ripped or not. If the song is unknown and sounds good it can't be bad.

It can be very bad if you plan on making money on it. Technically, the company could sue you anyway, but they don't stand to gain anything by suing 15-year-old gamemakers.

I'm not sure if the copyright laws are different in Germany, but in America this can land you in deep crap. Anyway, Fyrewulff and Charbile were aiming for a 100% original (and legal) soundtrack. They're already aware of several non-original tracks in the game.

They couldn't get a 100% original soundtrack, so they complemented it with public domain music, which is what I'm assuming this MIDI this. Should that read "I'm already aware..." ?

No, I wrote what I meant. Anyway, an Enya midi isn't public domain.

There isn't any more.
Moogle's finished his thought process.

And if anyone's got additional content to add to this discussion, they won't need your nod-bumps to keep the thread alive.

Forums aren't the same as chat rooms, instant messaging, myspace, or whatever. They're designed to provoke thought and discussion, and small talk that you would get away with in real life may be considered spammy here.

You're probably too young to fully understand. You won't be banned or anything, just put off a bit.
