So I made a big mistake and add a bunch of lines to a menu that I thought I would need and come to find out I do not need them (now there are multiple rows of blank space on the menu in-game). Is the only way to "disable" these lines in-game by setting a tag to them or starting with a fresh menu?

I guess if those are the only ways, a way to just delete a line from a menu in the menu editor would be a nice feature to have.

Yes, you can delete unwanted lines from menus. In the menu editor, go to "Edit Items" and then press the delete key over the item you want to remove.
