Has anyone else been having issues using imported mp3s in their games? Like I try to set my Victory music and once a battle is over... silence. Or if I want a text box to have a certain song played... silence. I've been looking all over bugzilla and I haven't found a single mention of any of these problems and no game I download and play has these problems. Anyone have any ideas? _________________ Peace and love. Peace and love. No more autographs. Peace and love. |

Which version are you using?
And are you sure that your songs don't have a considerable amount of delay? |

I am using voxhumana. I downloaded the nightly also and the problem persisted. And the tracks have no lag time. I composed an awesome victory theme and now I can't even use it! I can, however, continue to bang my head against this here brick wall out of frustation... _________________ Peace and love. Peace and love. No more autographs. Peace and love. |

What is the sampling rate of your MP3 files? (if you don't know, open them in Audacity) You can also use Audacity to do the conversion into ogg format, which gives you a little more control over the conversion options than the built-in mp3-to-ogg converter in custom.
I personally recommend either 44100 Hz or 22050 Hz. If you are already using one of those sampling rates, and you still have problems, let us know.
See '' . bug_title('372') . '' for some additional info about sampling rate problems. |

I tried both 44100 and 22050 and the problem persists. I am setting the victory music in the Edit General Game Data menu. This is driving me nuts! _________________ Peace and love. Peace and love. No more autographs. Peace and love. |

Does the music play in the music import screen? |

Yes it does. The battle theme is rather long... about 10 min. Maybe that is the problem? The resume music function of text boxes present the same problem also. I am using 1 quality OGGs and the mp3s are 22050, so the files are really not that large. _________________ Peace and love. Peace and love. No more autographs. Peace and love. |

Hmmm.... I re-read your original comments. Did you know that there is no sound preview ina ny of the places in CUSTOM where you can assign a song? The only place you should be getting a preview is in the music importer.
Does your music play in GAME? If so, there is no bug (unless a lack of previewing support can be considered a bug)
But if you are actually getting silence in GAME, then there still must be some kind of problem.
You mentioned the size of the battle music being very long. What happens if you crop it down to a shorter version? Does that make any difference? |

The problem comes when I play-test my game in GAME. I realize that there is no playback in custom except for the import screen. If I set the battle music to "Song 1" and then try to set the victory theme to "Song 2," after I beat the enemies... silence. If I make BOTH the battle music and the victory music "Song 1," after I beat the enemies the song continues. With the text box issue, as soon as I activate the NPC... silence. I have to leave the map and re-enter in order to get any music playing again. I actually envisioned some cool things to do with NPCs and changing music, but now I can't implement them into my game. And it just sounds lame to have the battle music continue after you are victorious. I tried to use shorter tracks (3min) but still the same problem. _________________ Peace and love. Peace and love. Sorry for the major burmp, here, but this seems to be very similar to a problem I'm having, and being as this doesn't seem to be resolved, I figured I'd just bring this back to attention.
I've been working on my game, and some of my songs are MP3's converted to OGG, then I have some midi's. For whatever reason, my midi's will play just fine in game, while the OGG/MP3's will be completely silent. After some mucking around, here's the main points I've discovered of note:
-I've tested and found this happening in both Voxhumana and Werewaffle+
-On a map using a OGG-converted MP3 as map music, it will be silence, as will any and all sound effects on that same map. (Neither the menu nor textbox sound effects are playing. They are also silent. Likewise for combat SFX if I use OGG/MP3 music in combat.)
-Any map/battle that uses a midi for music, the sound effects WILL play.
-I actually got the OGG/MP3's to PLAY under certain conditions. I set the title screen and the starting map to OGG/MP3's, while some of the battles on the map used midi music. When I started up the game, the OGG/MP3 title music played, and the first map played. They would work, regardless how much I quit out, etc. Once I entered a battle with midi music playing, that music played fine. However, once I completed the battle, and returned to the map, the OGG/MP3 map music was now silence. Same if I quit to title screen. From that point, regardless of how much I quit out and started the game up, the OGG/MP3 music remained silent.
-Another interesting point, is another time I tested this with OGG/MP3's working again (don't ask how I got them working again, I don't know), I started it up, the title and map music played fine. This time, however, I had a battle using a OGG/MP3 song. I got into battle, and it played as expected. However, the VICTORY music I had set was a midi. So, when it would have played it after I won, there was nothing but SILENCE for the MIDI. Once it sent me back to the map screen, the OGG/MP3 music was silence again, while the midi music was now playing fine (in the other battles I had on the map that used midi music).
An odd issue indeed, and I hope someone can either give me advice to solve the problem, or fix it if it's a glitch, cause this is driving me batty.
P.S. Also, I should point out that the music is working just fine in all cases in Custom's import screen. It's only in Game where I'm having this issue. |

I have made a fix that i think will resolve this issue. See '' . bug_title('678') . '' for details, and try the latest nightlies to test. Please let me know if this fixes your problems. |

It works perfectly! Thank you!
I repeated all my testing, and have run into no problems. |
