I got ridiculously frustrated with many of the arguments from yesterday. Now people get clarification as to what is a long battle:
- Avoid making random battles take too many turns to finish.
There. That's all I should need to explain. Long, tedious battles take many turns to finish, and if turns take a long time to come around, that only makes it worse.
This is NOT assuming you are trying to break the mold. _________________

Buut, you can still also lower the encounter rate so that there are only let's say 5 encounters per dungeon and then it's okay if they take many turns to finish as long as they aren't just about smashing space. _________________ Snippy:

Quote: | This is NOT assuming you are trying to break the mold. | If you can break the rules and do it right without making the game less fun, that's fine. My suggestion is for people trying to do it normally. _________________

Man... for a thread titled "QUICK newbie question," this has gotten a bit drawn out. It's like I entered a dungeon and got to the "prize" at the end with little resistence, in this case: the answer to my initial question. But when I turned around and started to make my way back out of the dungeon, I was hit with a tedious random encouner every step of the way, in this case: RYA! _________________ Peace and love. It's more like, you went into the dungeon, got the treasure you were looking for and when you tried to exit the dungeon there was a guy named Rya who said "Hey, but there are more treasure chests in there, go back!". _________________ Snippy:
