I'd like to show off my newest game in the making, Tim-Tim "The Might Gnome".
As You may have guessed, It's a Side-Scroller! You play as Tim-Tim, and with your magic powers you must transverse the land in search of new spells, Life containers, magic containers, and other power ups.
It might take me about a month to finish it up enough to release, then again it is playable now, but with only 2 levels, and 2 powers, I figured it would be better to wait.
So what do you think? |

I'm not sure why, but somehow, looking at a side-scroller using OHR has reminded me of Castlevania, then again I may just be thinking like that because I've been playing SOTN an awefull lot lately.

That part just reminded me of it, and I haven't the foggest why, either way looking at this I'd say (sorry NeoSpade is now in critic mode) tha the graphics look quite good, the sky is just the right colour and the textures of the floor tiles are good too, the main thing I have a beef about whilst looking at this is the mushrooms look a tad too flat at the top, if you rounded off the tops then it'd look great. |

So i've been working on the graphics a little, so I figured it was time for new pictures.
@NeoSpade- As you can see I also thought the small mushrooms where not round enough, however the big ones, well that's really more for function then use. cause you can jump on top of them.
I also improved on the main character, since he was definitely the weakest link. Hopefully, he'll be a lot more likable now. |

I liked him before being fleshed out, and now I like him even more , this looks really awesome, so when are you gonna post a demo? When will we be looking at a playable a version? 3 days? a week? or what? I'm looking foward to trying it out, btw got any music on it yet? If your looking for some origional music for your game I would happily give my services, it'll give me a chance to see if I've improved with my skills at composing, if you want to take me up on my offer (I won't mind if you decline) PM me with details about what sort of music you need and what mood needs to be set. |

Man, I love side scrollers. I would love to hear a laundry-list of the biggest annoyances when making a side scroller. it might give me new ideas for engine features. |

Collision! on a top ten list of most annoying things, collisions would be numbers 1-5.
The other things are most likely personal since not everyone would be making the same side scroller, or be using the exact same script to run it.
However, one thing I noticed that was odd, was that If i use a wall that only takes up part of a tile then it, shoots my character through any other wall tile touching the first, gets my character stuck, or simply doesn't function.
Not sure why really. But I'm using a moving script very close to the SS101 moving script. I personally plan to just sort of write around it since it's really not that big a deal. |
