Oh good, I was wondering if we'd have one of these:

1. Jailbreak
2. I Made Dis Too
3. Mr. Triangle's Maze
4. OHR House 3
5. OHR House: Heroes
6. Vikings of Midgard
7. Surf's Up Yuk
8. Surlaw Armageddon
9. Hedgemaze
10. Adventures of Mikey T

Note: I didn't play Attack Fish Chronicles or Escape from Darkavern yet, but I hear both are pretty good. If I get a chance to play either before February and decide I like them, I may change my votes. For now, I'm sticking with these.

Oh, I've since lost the original script file and found that I wasn't able to imitate the thought process that let me make that.
I've seriously forgotten how to make that game. Neutral

However, playing it again would probably repair quite a bit of my memory.

I AM SO SORRY!

Despite what many people may have thought at some point in time, CP is not dead. Look how many games were released! A few years ago when I was more active there were like...less than ten.

That and now the engine is more badass n' ever.

And we have a monthly that works.

And yet, after five posts, we still choose not to vote.

Is this thread reserved for discussion or voting? Come on, people! I refuse to pass the mantle of chronic disappointment onto Surlaw. Vote for those frickin' games. Let HamsterSpeak have some content this month or Surlaw's gonna release that crazy Super Walrus Man onto the community.

Here, I'll vote again, just to show you what it looks like:

1. Jailbreak
2. I Made Dis Too
3. Mr. Triangle's Maze
4. OHR House 3
5. OHR House: Heroes
6. Vikings of Midgard
7. Surf's Up Yuk
8. Surlaw Armageddon
9. Hedgemaze
10. Adventures of Mikey T

Unless you all start voting, I'm gonna request that my vote counts double.

Well, I feel bad voting, 'cause I didn't play all of these games and I don't want to snub anyone. I'll help Pepsi get the ball rolling.

1. I Made Dis Too
2. OHR House 3
3. Jailbreak
4. Mikey T
5. Vikings of Midgard
6. Bad Fellows: KNIFE EDITION
7. Hedgemaze
8. Night of 10,000 Bullets
9. Scare Spree 2008
10. Yo Ghost! The Beggening

EDIT: Mariel, get out of my brain!

I would like to vote, but I don't feel like I've played enough of the games to be fair. Next year, after I've been in the community longer, I shall be able to form a better opinion.

It is a daunting thing, after all, to choose ten out of that whole list.

Of the list, I've played (and can remember)...

Quote:
Beath of Flams by Bengrande
Bubble Breaker (Tech Demo) by Twin Hamster
Curse of Vampire by Moogle
Escape from Darkavern by TwinHamster
Fatal Maze by Rya Reisender
I Made Dis Too by Gilbert
Jailbreak by Aethereal and Mr. J
Night of 10,000 Bullets by Twin Hamster
OHR House 3 by JSH
OHR House: Heroes by RMZ
Scare Spree 2008 by RMZ and Moogle
Super Walrus House by Surlaw
The Dark Dungeon by Twin Hamster
Timpoline by Moogle

I'm ashamed that this list is so small. I'm sure I missed out on many of the better releases. I feel like apologizing to all the games that aren't on this list that I know are good Sad...

So, without requiring much trimming, here's my top 10:

1. Escape from Darkavern by TwinHamster
Am I putting this here because it's the best game of 2008 or because I just want TwinHamster to continue it that badly? I don't know. All I know is that this game's peculiar brand of humor and tantalizing stats have endeared me to it permanently. TwinHamster, I would personally help you make another Darkavern game if you have lost the script, will, or way.

2. I Made Dis Too by Gilbert
I was fortunate enough to get a preview copy of IMDT. Gilbert wanted to bounce it off someone before he released it to the general public. Of course, it was perfect already. I told him so and the final release was unchanged.

3. OHR House 3 by JSH
My memory is fuzzy because it's been forever, but I think this was really great!

4. OHR House: Heroes by RMZ
See previous comment.

5. Surlaw Armageddon (11/2008 Release) by Surlaw
To my shame, I haven't played the November release. The older release I have played still qualifies for a top spot on this list, though.

6. Timpoline by Moogle
25 levels seems so long ago to me. There are 39 sitting on my computer right now, with bugfixes, better controls, and most importantly, less hassle as some of the worst offenders have been made slightly easier and the remaining levels can be freely skipped. Please keep your eye out for the full release if you got any enjoyment out of the demo version.

7. Curse of Vampire by Moogle
I'm oddly proud of this game. It inspired a contest that produced other great games; plus, it's got the 8-bit Castlevania aesthetic blended with old adventure games.

8. Beath of Flams by Bengrande
Bengrande showed up one day and released a demo of the game based on the famous (?) IAQ. Unless he mysteriously shows up again someday, that's the end of this game. It was fun while it lasted.

9. Fatal Maze by Rya Reisender
I don't know why this game got blasted like it did. Wait, yes I do. It's because of Rya.

10. Scare Spree 2008 by RMZ and Moogle
RMZ likes this game a heck of a lot more than I do. I thought the balance was better the first time around, but the re-release offers more variety.

Oh, I can do three (at least, I've not been around too long, but I got here late 08? Either way I've managed to play a few of 08s releases:
1: Attack of the Fish Chronicals Volume 1: The Omega
I liked this game because of the varity, and because it didn't seem like just another JRPG based game, the memory loss thing at the begining was a bit cliche, but over all it handled it well, best game of 08 in my books.

2: Xocolotl+ version of VoM
Although not as complete as the origional, I found it better than the origional (which I loved anyway) it had one major thing that bugged me which was its stackable slow spell, but that I could get over, it was still as vibrant and wonderful as I remember it being, and the plot is much thicker now.

3: Bubble Breaker
Although only a short tech demo, I found that it was very fun to play, it had (to my surprise) great replay value, when the full version comes out I will jump for joy!

4: Antagonist
Although all the graphics are ripped, it was fairly good, if MenosTorpe ever changes the graphics and music, and improved the plot ever so slightly, then this game would be a classic.

5: Loser Man
What can I say, the overweight-homisidal-superhero has touched me, I re-played that game about 8 times. It wss rather funny, and it used something that not many OHR games use; the vehicle option, I'm sure that when (and if) SpoonWeaver ever extends this, and adds more plot elements that this game could be a winner (lol, winner, get it?)

Well, I did 5, its better than nothing though? I may play some more of the 08 releases and extend the list at some point.

1. Vikings of Midgard (Xocolotl+)

2. Surlaw Armageddon

3. Hedgemaze

4. Timpoline

5. Tales of the New World II

6. The Omega

7. Escape from Darkavern

8. The Dark Dungeon

9. Bloodlust

10. Beath of Flams
