Alrighty! It's been a while, and I got something to show! ^_^ Here we go!

the concept art is by Carlos Haunte; here's the drawing! I can't wait to texture and put hair on him!

I did put my own spin on him ^-^ most obviously in the chest area!

The anatomical structure of the creature is downright exceptional, at least in my eyes, which is the most impressive part of it.

In its current state it reminds me of something I would see in Mortal Kombat, but fur will change that for sure based on the concept art.

Can't wait to see the texturing job. You're amazing. You should steal one of Cube's games and make the first full 3D OHR game ever, (once that dev team just skips all of these minor updates and jumps right into the 3d code work.)

Alrighty, so I've been working on the texturing and I think I've got the colour scheme (after much switching and angry words) and I think these ones work just right~

Next step: HAIR!

Okay, now convert to 256 colors, reduce the resolution to 320X200, and stick it in a game.

Alrighty, So almost done this guy! I put hair on him, painted out his seems, now I'm working on his little environment that will have grass and stuff,

After this I am doing a 3D model of this sculpture;
I bought the model and it's sitting on my desk... since I liked it so much lol!

Is... Is that Batgirl?
Or some kind of Dracula's crazy twin sister? EDIT: No, it's Batgirl.

To be honest, she looks like the poster girl for some kind of fetish I've never heard of.

I sculpt in clay sometimes. I am always frustrated by gravity. Gravity limits the shape and size, and gravity forces me to favor some poses over others.

I think the lion-ape-gator-centaur is fantastic, but I do notice that it follows the same rules of structural support that you would follow if this was a physical sculpture.

Do you wish (as I would wish) to make a 3D model that would be impossible to make if it was a physical object?

Although I suppose the advantage to a 3D model that could stand up under its own weight and balance is that when the price of 3D-printers comes down a little bit, you can actually make one and put it on your shelf! ;)

@ James: Hmmm~ actually I never really thought of that, I sculpted him in that pose only because it seemed natural and how a cat would stand O_o (I even used reference for the positioning of the legs)

I would however LIKE to make a sculpt that would be impossible to make in physical form... sounds like a challenge since I can always think of a solution on how to MAKE it stand... Hmmm... Maybe if it was a girl standing on like... on lone finger it might never work because it might be top heavy~? Not sure though hahahahaha!

What software did you use for that dude?

Is it free? (he asked, expecting: "No")

I used Autodesk Softimage for the modeling, Z-brush, and Photoshop CS4.

None of those are free... of course >.> you can ALWAYS get around that SOMEHOW *evil laughter* =_=

Blender is free, but the learning curve on it is supposed to be very steep. Next time I am stuck in a hospital bed for a month with a spleen amputation I am going to take the time to teach myself it :)
