Final call for votes! For those of you who haven't voted yet, this is you last chance (And if anybody wants to change their vote, please edit your old post rather than making a new one, because it makes counting much easier for me)
Here are the current standings:
Zoidberg
Currently in the lead with 24 points, the Zephalopod who everbody either loves or hates. Dr. Zoidberg of Futurama! Will his name shall grace our release codename? (*clack clack*) EDIT: Typo fixed. Zoidberg not Zoidburg
Zenzizenzic
Running in second place with 20 points, Can this archaic way of saying fourth-power-of-a-number take the lead? Or will it be relegated to being the secret codename for people, who in their heart of hearts think "Zoidberg" is too mainstream to be cool?
Zarathustra
With 10 points, the Avestan name for the prophet and religious poet Zoroaster. Will Ahura Mazda intervene and give him the votes he needs? or will druj prevail?
Zugzwang
Also with 10 points, the Zugzwang, originally from chess, but applying also to all of combinatorial game theory, is there still time to force a movement in votes?
ZZ9-Plural-Z-Alpha
Inhabitants of this unfashionable end of the western spiral arm of the milky way galaxy are sometimes prone to spontaneous existence failure during hyperspace travel. Whether or not that explains the weak showing of 6 points is open to debate.
And currently tied for 5th place with 4 points each:
* Zebranky - extinct species indirectly responsible for the uniting of the Zoq-Fot-Pik before they became a spacefaring race in Star Control II. As a codename, are its chances as extinct as its namesake?
* Zephalopod - This less trademarky nickname for Zoidberg is apparently awesome enough to draw off a few points of his already formidable score. Does this reinforce his lead? Or could Zephalopod prove to be the Ralph Nader to his John Kerry?
* Zirconium - Jöns Jakob Berzelius must be rolling in his grave. How can this metal draw so few points, when it looks so cool? If I found a zirconium crystal rod on the ground I would think it fell off of a UFO.
* Zograscope - Have you ever played an arcade game with a diagonal mirror in it so it looks like the screen is really far away? The Edwardians invented it, but since Pac-Man wouldn't be invented for 75 more years they had to find other uses for it. Even if this doesn't win the codename vote, you can still play the next release of the OHRRPGCE Zograscope-style by duct-taping a cardboard box, a mirror, and a fresnel lens to your computer monitor. |

Point of clarification: it's Zoidberg, not Zoidburg.
I really want to see Zarathustra win, but not as much as I don't want some of the others to win. _________________

You should throw in a variable of chance into this whole shebang.
First place: 23%
Second:20%
Third: 17%
Fourth: 15%
Fifth: 5%
Fifth: 5%
Fifth: 5%
Fifth: 5%
Fifth: 5%
Leave the rest to the gods.
(psst, I don't fully understand this whole democracy thing) |

Haha! I was at one point thinking of choosing the codename via lottery, but I think we will stick with the current voting rules :) |

Man.
This Zoidberg really is a polarizer.
Most of the Zoidberg votes are either 1st, or anti-votes.
I hope the OHR doesn't schism.
We might need volunteers for a Zoidberg pope, and an anti-Zoidberg pope ... or perhaps a Zoidberg anti-pope.
Well, ok, it doesn't matter the titles we use - just so long it involves hats of opposite colours:
Red, and anti-red. _________________ Working on rain and cloud formation |

Just make two versions that are exactly the same except for the codename, then there won't be any zoidbergish wars. _________________ Snippy:

Surlaw can bash me over at his forums if he wants, but I'm leaning anti-Zoidberg on this one. He just feels like too popular a character for an OHR codename. I really think Zephalopod would be much cooler, and if I could influence others' votes I would ask Zoidberg voters to go back and change their votes to Zephalopod.
My votes:
1. Zenzicube - I still like the sound of this one best
2. Zirconium
3. Zephalopod _________________ My first completed OHR game, Tales of the New World:

Before you consider not voting "Zebranky", download this and play it. (You'll thank me even if you vote for the other, clearly inferior names). It's available for all operating systems, even BSD! |

I am confused as to how you are voting... can you clarify?

After TMC first mentioned Zebranky in this thread, I spent a couple hours reading the Ur Quan Masters Wiki with increasing fascination. When I got home, I installed the Wii homebrew version on my hacked Wii, but I still haven't had time to sit down and play it.
